I hate to write a negative review, but Iāve got to be honest. As someone who has gotten many massages of varying styles, at many different places, this massage was probably the worst overall experience for me. The masseuse seemed to not know technique and did not have any structure or flow to the massage. There was way too much oil used, to the point where I was worried Iād stain my clothes after the massage. There was a salt scrub that was used on me that wasnāt advertised, and took away from the actual time of the massage (which was 50 minutes). My massage started late, my masseuse allowed her text sounds to go off during the massage, and it seemed like at times she was massaging me with one hand and texting with the other. Also, this place is kept very cold, to the point of uncomfortableness for the duration of me waiting and my massage. My ādeep tissue massageā was not deep tissue at all. I booked a $128 massage online and wound up paying nearly $150 after taxes, and then was solicited massage packages as I was trying to leave. Honestly, the experience missed the mark across the board. I would recommend having a more reasonable price (Iāve had $200 an hour massages- this massage was absolutely not a $150 for 50 minute kind of massage), retraining staff/hiring people who have experience in massage, and turning up the temperature in the building. Until then, skip this spa...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStarted the experience a little shaky. The spa confirmed with us the day before our reservation for myself and my mom. The day of however they called a few hours before our reservation to say that we would have to reschedule our mani/pedis because the mani/pedi area was being remolded. We refused and told the girl who called that we had already prepaid our service and if we had to cancel 60% of our service we wanted to cancel all of it. The girl at the reception put us on hold and was pretty curt with us when she came back on the phone and said āfineā they could do the services we had already paid for. When we got there we were given a locker for our items and shown the pool. The pool was lovely, relaxing and they let us soak for a long while. Afterwards we showered and were taken to our massage. Our masseuses were excellent, we loved our massages. Afterwards we were taken to a quiet room with comfy couches where you can help yourself to complimentary snacks. We were shown the mani/pedi area and I was genuinely surprised because it was full. They clearly had guests booked all day, which means the phone call we received in the morning was clearly a lie. Nevertheless our technicians were friendly and excellent. It would have been a perfect experience if it wasnāt for the bizarre phone call. I would...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have had ups and downs here. My biggest complaint is that I purchased the package for the body scrub almost a year ago because the first one was great. The second time I went the overhead pressure/steam hot water bar was broken. The water was so cold I had to take a hot shower to get warmed up before my massage. Waited several months before the next and guess what? It's still broken. You just get scrubbed and rinsed off with a shower wand, freezing in the air conditioning. Its not a spa experience. For this service you would be far better off just buying the product and doing it yourself comfortably at home.
The massages I have had had been good. The pedicures are good but the nail painting is hit or miss too.
I recently had a facial. It was great. Happy with the laser package too. I will say though, I won't be buying anymore packages here. The staff are nice but it's unbelievable to me that in DORADO it's been almost a year and the body scrub room is fixed. I definitely don't feel like I've gotten my money's worth on that one.
It's a shame...I liked the location and staff but won't keep spending money at a spa with...
