What a strange place. Be aware when you book that every member of your party must give them a unique phone number or they will cancel your appointment.
I booked an appointment online for a couples pedicure with my wife, they texted the next day and asked for information including phone number for my second party. I gave them all the important information without her phone number and was then told I need to also provide her phone number. We only ever give out my phone number to reduce her exposure to spam, and my wife is with me almost always anyway. When I told them to use the same number, they said they would have to cancel the appointment if I wouldn't give them hers.
I could have given them a fake number I guess, but I shouldn't be railroaded into giving out personal information or lying for a pedicure. This is definitely the strangest experience I've ever had with a nail salon.
Edit to respond to owner response: Strange to think that gathering a second phone number from a couple will somehow counteract whatever the implication of "nefarious purpose" might be. But that aside, I think that it's more "nefarious" for a business whose goal it is to give me a pedicure wanting more phone numbers. It's far more likely to me that you're gathering phone numbers for "nefarious" purposes such as marketing to them or selling them to other companies for spamming purposes than countering anything "nefarious" on your customers' end.
What an absolutely ridiculous response. I had hoped you maybe had someone untrained manning your phones, but your whole company seems to have the same mentality. Strange hill to die on.
I booked another couple's pedicure for my wife's birthday at a competing establishment down the street who has respect for our privacy and accepted just one contact number.
Thank you so much Spa Lounge for your forceful invasion of privacy and the implication that we might be up to something "nefarious" for only giving you one point of contact....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIād like to start by saying the space is truly beautiful ā clean, organized, and with a pleasant atmosphere. The technician who did my nails was extremely kind and attentive, which I really appreciated. However, unfortunately, my experience had some issues that caused confusion and discomfort.
When I arrived, I asked for Wi-Fi access so I could use Google Translate, since I donāt speak English fluently. The receptionist did not provide it, and because my mobile carrier has poor signal in that area, I couldnāt access the internet. Thankfully, the technician was understanding and later gave me access to the Wi-Fi.
As for the service, I was told at the front desk that the price would be $48, and I agreed to that amount. I was not informed of any additional charges for gel removal, and at no point did I see the total cost before paying. My English is limited, but I always make sure to ask everything in advance to avoid misunderstandings.
In the end, I was charged $68, plus a $20 tip, even though I had only intended to leave a 20% tip. I received a call from the manager, but since I donāt speak English, I replied by text and was treated very respectfully. The team reviewed and adjusted the charge, and I truly appreciate their professionalism and willingness to make things right.
I want to make it clear that my intention was never to harm the business, but simply to ensure that what was agreed upon was honored. Now that the refund has been processed and I received great customer service through messages, Iām updating my review with clarity and fairness.
I believe my experience could have been better with clearer communication at the front desk and transparency about the final amount before payment. Even so, I do recommend the location ā just with the suggestion to confirm all details in advance, especially if, like me, you have language...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet me start by saying that I absolutely love this place. Iāve worked with 3 different massage therapists that have all helped rehab my shoulder from a fall a couple years back. I damaged my shoulder and broke a couple ribs from it. They are attentive, skilled, engaged, and have the genuine need to want to help. The facility is clean, calming, well organized and laid out. I attend once a week to get an hour deep tissue massage.
I wouldāve happily given them a 5 star rating until my most recent visit⦠just like almost all other therapies or spas, The Spa Lounge has a very strict cancellation policy. Most of the time, I fully agree with the policies. My last appointment was yesterday (Saturday the 17th). Friday night, I went to bed feeling great. By Saturday morning I was sick as a dog. Throat was sore, congestion in my head and chest, blurry vision, and upset breathing.
I contacted the office the moment I could after they opened seeing if I could cancel without penalty, and explained the situation. I was told if I canceled, I would still be charged the full amount of service, AND would not have access to the paid service. Simply put, i would be forfeiting $100 for being ill.
I had to make a choice of either forfeiting my very hard earned money, or attend my appointment while feeling my like death. I donāt work for free so I chose the latter option.
I was miserable every second of my appointment. I couldnāt do anything face down because of the pressure in my head, the company put me AND everyone else in the spa in a compromising position. People going to work, and others going to enjoy themselves and relax had to be susceptible to illness.
You guys need to re work your cancellation policy to better protect your patrons...
