Dropped off my Seiko watch to have a few links removed from band during Valentine's Day week. Was told it would be ready same day after 3:30. Returned at 4:45 and owner was helping another couple with appraisal quotes. Waited 15 minutes and had to leave. Owners wife (I'm sorry for not catching your name) apologized for owner who was still helping the other couple and assured me that it would be done the next morning. Now, this type of experience may have caused many people to give a negative review and take their business elsewhere. As a small business owner myself, my watch NOT being ready at the promised time is exactly WHY I will ALWAYS bring my business here. Due to the small, intimate size of the store, you can hear the other customers talk. I had brought in a $10 job. He was quoting a $2,000 job. Yes, in a perfect world everyone should be treated the same, yada, yada, yada. This isn't a perfect world, and this is business. The owner grew up in Draper. He's been in a highly competitive business, in the same spot, for over 30 years. How I was attended to told me that he will still be here tomorrow, next week, next month, and next year. I returned the following morning and then had the owners full attention. He did a few minor adjustments to ensure a perfect fit, told me there was no charge because I had to wait the previous evening, and I left with what will now be my "go to jewelry guy", and a couple new friendly...

I met JP at a redesign show in Salt Lake City. He reset my diamonds in two rings and they turned out very nice. I had a large diamond I wanted him to set it into a nicer setting. I called each time before I drove to his shop to make sure he would be there, but when I arrived "I just missed him/he wasn't coming in/he might be in later/he had to go out of town".... I was told to come back. (I live many miles from Draper.) I made a specific appointment for him to meet with me, but when I arrived he had me flip through catalogs to find a setting I liked. He had many "family and friends" that came to the shop that day for help, and I was basically on my own. I found a setting I hoped would work and his wife had me put down a $100 deposit to order it in with the idea that if I didn't like it we could use the deposit towards another ring setting. I called several times over several weeks to see if it came in and no one seemed to know and I was asked to wait to speak with JP. He never returned my calls. I went looking for wedding rings, yup, getting married to the loveliest lady alive!!! Was driving past and saw the store on a back street in Draper. Nice, clean, respectable Walked in and was greeted kindly by a lady who asked me what I was looking for and gave her my request. She suggested I look at some cases and because I had asked for red jewels she got one of the Jewelers in the back working on something to come out and help me find what I was looking for. Ok, yup, he showed me the most gorgeous ring and yup, wanted it for my sweetheart but it was way out if the price range I had in mind. Was she worth it? Absolutely. Was it practical... No, so I asked about less expensive and he did show me some other pieces but went to the owner and asked what discount he would give on the first ring. Very substantial discount but included it was an heirloom ring that just came in. Dang tootin I'd love to have an heirloom ring like that. However, I had to keep looking...
