Ace Hardware of Dunnellon — Attraction in Dunnellon

I am reluctant to shop there anymore. I have been shopping there for almost 2 years. The recent experience with an employee was horrible. He was extremely nasty and acted as if I was bothering him. He was down an aisle reading the back of a package. I asked him if he was helping a customer. He looked up at me and stated NASTY NOO. I should of walked out at that moment. I showed him a knob that was on my pool filter and explained my pool guy said to go to Ace they have a 1/4 in plug I could use for much cheaper than what he is selling it for at 28.00. He next nasty comment was "WHY ARE YOU HANDING THAT TO ME". UMMMM because no matter which big box I shop they usually take the part and try and find something similar. He stated that is not a 1/4 of an inch. OK I am just going by what I was told. He was not able to find anything down the first aisle he took me to. Again he nasty and I should have walked out. He then asked a female and she just shook her head. I told him she is already telling you she does not know. I asked Is STEVE here. I was told by female he was off till WEDs. Nasty guy stated how did he rank having 5 days off. I felt like saying probably cause he deserves it cause he works hard and you are worthless. Guy sitting behind some counter told him where to look for a part that would work. I just took what he handed me I just needed to get out of the store ASAP. Needless to say I have not tried the plug. I will continue to use the broken plug and go spend the 28.00 to get part from pool store. ACE you have definitely reached the bottom of the barrel . I will stop in from time to time just so I can get this horrible...

I told myself that I was not going to review this place based on my opinion but today did it. We all shop there from a lack of choice in Dunnellon. The employees are very nice no problem there. The management or whoever has the policy of interrogating customers as they enter the door sucks. "Welcome to Ace what can I help you find?" Then as you walk away you hear them describe what you are wearing and what your answer was to that question. Then when you are checking out you hear them very plainly speaking on the radio to the other employees with these descriptions of everyone that enters the store. Today I told them I was good Thank You. As I walked away I heard "Blue shirt he said he was good". Then I was swarmed with at least 3 different employees within 3 minutes just hanging around where they could watch me. REALLY?????? This is very rude and extremely un-professional. I have been in many building supply and hardware stores and have never witnessed such a rude policy. It is time for a True Value or anything as an...

Gotta love these little hardware stores. I stopped in looking for what I’d consider a rather obscure LED G4 replacement bulb and instead of wandering around a massive HD or Lowes I was immediately greeted at the door by an associate asking if they could help me find something, aisle 9 he responded and I was pleasantly surprised to see just what I was looking for along with a host of other similar bulbs for various other applications.

Store was not a new as many of the other Ace locations I’ve seen but I had the same friendly service and solid assortment of high end wares.

Just as a comparison I price compared these bulbs after the purchase at Lowes and they were $.60 cheaper at Ace, a 7% discount. I would have paid 50% more for the time savings and to support a...
