Duke Health Center Creekstone — Attraction in Durham

I’ve visited several Duke Children’s locations across the Triangle over the past year with my daughter, who has special needs, and have generally had positive experiences—except at the cardiology department at this location. Unfortunately, the staff here is unwelcoming and, at times, downright unpleasant. From the front desk check-in to the checkout process, multiple team members seemed disinterested, unfriendly, and unhappy to be working with children.

One staff member in particular—a male sonographer—stood out for his lack of warmth and questionable bedside manner. He should absolutely not be working in a pediatric setting.

The only reason I’m giving two stars instead of one is because the cardiologist we see is truly exceptional. She is compassionate, thorough, and the one bright spot in an otherwise disappointing experience—but sadly, she is only available at this location one day a week.

Because the doctor talk at you and don't listen to you about your pain or ailments. I literally hate doctors who do this. He could clearly see that I was in a great deal of pain and mobility issue. I went there seeking help for my pain and clearly needing help with my mobility issue. I felt like I was brushed off and didn't matter. I traveled from Columbus County all the way to Duke orthopedic for nothing. I was told that I would be preferred to pain management but haven't heard anything from Duke orthopedic. Dr. Gupta is one of the most patient, kindest doctors I have ever met. I only had one of my children scheduled, and I had to get my son seen to and unfortunately I had to schedule them on two separate days for different reasons. I came in, and they were able to see both of them so I didn’t have to come back another day. She addressed all my concerns with my children and even went above and beyond and explained the thyroid and how it works and also talked to both my children and encouraged them! I would recommend anyone even in Fayetteville(where I am from) to see this amazing endocrinologist! Thank you so much for being a doctor with great bedside...
