What a beautiful set up,all snuggled into the hills and mountains of north Carolina. Great location, that's always a bonus feature when getting a room outside of your home town. I travel often,I'm lucky some don't get the opportunity to go many places or very far. I think this area of America is just beautiful.its what feels like home to me,even though I live in another state. When I get here I feel a sense of relief in my whole body. I've never had that feeling at home, unless I was on my way home from work. I love knowing when I go places my favorite hotels are there to take care of me and my family. They're always ready to assist in needs. They have super clean rooms, and a kitchenette set up right in room, fridge and freezer too and about normal size for an apartment too. You can get a hot plate and burner for the rest of your needs. They have a huge microwave in room. A nice sitting area in the room for watching t.v.. after a long day of travel who wouldn't like knowing this place has everything you need and then some. Huge snack and breakfast bar in lobby.swimming pool (seasonal) that's good sized. A sitting area out front to gather and chat with friends and family,or even make a new friend If running solo. I'll definitely be back to visit and see my dad. This trip wasn't for fun my dad's in the hospital with cancer. To deal with that is terrible and I wish it on no one. With my sister and I both living in separate sates and having to fly out ,makes it rougher! So for anyone who needs to stay close to the hospital or campus I highly recommend this hotel. They will do their best to accommodate your needs. So if you haven't tried to check in here, definitely do if needed. It's worth the money, and close to Home2. Get to googling and see if you can find better! Or listen to me and Google the Home2 suites by Hilton. You won't regret it I swear. Happy Google's and enjoy the area,it's beautiful out here! And the people are great! That's my sister in the picture,if you're ever in Dallas metro she has a smoothie shop. Smoothie king Stop and say hiš! And tell her...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf you are looking for a simple, clean place to stay. This is it. If you want a little more, youāll need to go elsewhere. Just like all modern Hilton hotels, they are trying to cut waste. Youāll see this in some of my pics such as the dispenser in the shower and the breakfast food.
Checking in the person was just ok. He seemed slightly put-off that I was checking in 30 min early but he was able to get me a room right away. I also had a less than pleasant contact with a second attendant, but a third was nice so itās really all about who you see and not the place itself.
The rooms are pretty nice and clean, and I definitely appreciated the large TV. They are also long, so that made it feel bigger as well. Interestingly enough, they also have a curtain you can pull between the bed and the sofa-bed to split the room if you are sharing the room with friends to give a little extra privacy which is nice. Wonāt stop you from hearing a snorer...but at least you wonāt see them laying there in their underwear unless you pass by them to go to the bathroom.
Bathrooms are nice and simple, but I did NOT like the shower gel dispenser. It continually popped off when I went to use it and hit my foot once which hurt. Very cheaply made. Iāve seen better designs in dormitories.
The kitchen area is nice and simple and they offer kitchen supplies at the front if you need them like hot plates. I didnāt use them or ask for them so I canāt comment. Plenty of fridge and freezer space though.
Rooms are fairly soundproof as I didnāt hear much from my neighbors.
I didnāt really like the breakfast. It reminded me of airplane food and all you do is microwave it. Not my cup of tea. Also the coffee tastes pretty bad.
Rooms were cleaned daily and well for the most part, but one day a dirty and sorta bloody rag was left in my room next to my bad which was disturbing.
All in all I donāt think Iāll stay here again just because I didnāt anticipate airplane food, bit on a cleanliness side it keeps people from getting up all the food in the serve yourself buffets, and probably also cuts...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGood location and room included a small kitchen area. However, the bathroom layout was terrible. The entry door closes off the entrance to the shower. It's like a maze just to get into the shower. The second day of our stay, I slipped and fell on the bathroom tile, trying to get out of the shower, around the toilet and the door. Fortunately, I'm a 38 year old healthy Male and didn't brake any bones, but have experienced a pain in the tailbone since the fall, 3 days ago. Had it been an elderly person, the result would have been very different. If they were going to jam in such small space for the bathroom, they should have made the door a sliding door, as I've seen in other contemporary hotels, I've stayed.
Upon first entering the hotel, we stood around for a few minutes waiting for someone at the front counter to show up. When someone finally came to the counter (we arrived 30 minutes prior to check-in), we were told that we had to wait until the official check-in time. That rooms weren't ready. I've arrived to hotels hours in advance and have never been told that I must wait until the exact minute, of check-in time.
We found the counter staff during the day, to rarely acknowledge the guests entering the hotel, which is typically the standard procedure in any hotel.
Lastly, we stayed 4 days and 3 nights. No cleaning occurred during that time. Our trash cans were full and we replenished our own towels. I'm used to daily cleaning. This hotel finds cleaning to be an afterthought.
Cons: Terrible bathroom layout, regular cleanings, unfriendly and inflexible staff, poor sound reduction (hear everything and everyone in hallway and close by rooms)
The pros: Location, contemporary, heated pool, decent size sitting area, comfortable bed but should have more...
