Where do I start!! I purchased a livingsocial voucher for a pedicure @ this "spa" and I went in expecting, well at least a proper pedicure and maybe a little bit a of a friendly attitude. I will explain exactly what happened. I would like to say I am a very positive person and always approach with a smile on my face.
I walked in and there were maybe 3 customers, I know one next to me also had a LS voucher. I was greeted nicely by the man, I think is the owner, and was told to have a seat and a free drink and that someone will be with me shortly. He then shortly told me to come and have a seat on the pedicure chair, he was already providing service to someone else. I sat down and waited for someone to come and at least turn the water on or the back massage on the chair. I waited for 15 minutes and nothing. I was sitiing with my back twisted and feet hagning to side of the chair so I politely asked if someone could turn the water on for me so I can soak my feet until they finish with the other customers. Then a very unpolite young lady said "we will be right there" in a very aggressive tone. The man came and turned the water on, I manged to figure out how the massage option on the chair worked. I then waited 20 more minutes ... I didn't mind the wait. The same young lady then came with a menu asking to add 5 more dollars for a massage and I declined because I wanted a french pedicure, which is 5 dollar extra. She then said for my own sanitary benefits, she recommends that I purchase a one dollar file and buffer to use for now and when I return in the future, so I accepted.
The whole pedicure lasted ..... wait for it .... 5 minutes and resulted in the worst french manicure I have ever seen!!!! I can do a better job at home. I didn't get any type of foot rub, lotion and when i asked for a very general top coat I was told they didn't have it and was told to do another type instead, when I said I didn't like it that was when the "talking about me in their native language" began. Wow, it was amazing how stupid they think I was because they neglected to think that they were supplementing with English words to complete their sentences and of course the eye rolling and the expressions were just unbearable. I asked why I didn't get a foot rub or why it was so short and I was told, it was because I purchased the basic pedicure package. Mind you, the person sitting next to me with the same exact voucher started like 30 minutes before me and I was done way before she was. I know because I overheard her saying she doesn't want anything additional. Oh, I forgot to mention, while she was filing my nails it hurt so bad I had to ask her top stop, and of course I was told "it is the way I do everybody's nails." After I left, I found out that I was bleeding and my two middle toes are still healing from the scar and it has been like 2 months, promise no exaggeration here!
I have never in my life experienced this much attitude from any nail salon or any other place for that matter. There was another older lady that was very nice to me but the two other young ladies had the most disgusting attitude I've seen. If the man is the owner then I would really advice him to consider firing these two, it looks like I am not alone with this experince. Its not worth losing a business because there are tons of nail spas around the the choice is all ours!! I hate giving bad reviews but this experience really deserves it!
FYI, just because you can speak another language, it doesn't mean people can't understand you're bashing them. At least wait until I leave! Definitely NOT...
Read moreI wish I could leave less than one star. I truly have never written a google review before, but feel it necessary to warn others about this place. For added context, I recently moved to the area and work in healthcare. I have an event this weekend, so despite having a long shift and really wanting to go home, I did a quick google maps search for a nail salon and found this one. I regret not reading the reviews before wasting my money here. I moved from New York and got my nails done every 2-3 weeks, and can honestly say this was the worst experience I have ever had AND one of the most expensive - just for a normal manicure and pedicure (NOT gel or anything fancy)! The "massages" on my feet and hands were so painful I had a startle reflex and pulled my limbs away to avoid the painful pressure. The tech doing my nails put only ONE COAT of nail polish on my toes and finger nails, and when I clarified that I was used to two coats, she acknowledged that is standard but that she only does one coat so that it goes faster... So in summary at this point, I had painful massages that did not relax me but actually did the exact opposite, AND I was paying for less product on my nails. However, my reason for giving this place one star is not just for those aforementioned reasons. The actual reason I give this place one star is because they ripped my toe and nail cuticles so hard that I bled from numerous places and I became really concerned about the general cleanliness of the tools they were using and risk for infection. The technique that was used to removed my cuticles was barbaric. Instead of using the scissors to trim along the cuticle nail-bed, the tech would take the scissors, get a piece of cuticle, then rip along the bed, causing the cuticle to cut up into my finger and take skin rather than just cuticle. I was stunned. As mentioned, I work in healthcare; my original plan was to get my nails done then run into target to grab some makeup for this weekend; however, due to the number of cuts I had on my fingers and toes, I worried about developing a paronychia and decided to just go home and shower to make sure everything was well cleaned! I hope this review allows you to feel more informed and avoid this place, and perhaps at least empowers you to speak up if you do decide to go here to...
Read moreDon't go here for Pink&White! I went in and asked how much they charge for a fill-in of both the P&W and they told me $45. Highway robbery! I asked how much to fill just the pink and they said $25, I was in a hurry to get home after work so I said fine. The girl started working on my nails and she said you should try gel nails, "they're better for you". I said no thanks, I've been on the P&W bandwagon for 8+ years and I'm happy with these nails. The girl proceeded to argue with me as only someone who works at a nail salon could, telling me I didn't know what I was talking about and I've never had them so how could I judge them? I said no, I want to stay with my P&W, I've done research on gel nails and I know that I probably won't like them because they're pliable compared to my nails now (plus a sign in their shop said a gel set is $70??). She said she noticed that I had the shiny hardening gel on top of my previous set and that it would be $5 extra...um seriously? Why are you people nickel and dimeing me? Every other nail salon under the sun has that included in the price of P&W. Then the girl proceeds to overfile my nails down, quite on purpose, to where there was BARELY a sliver of white on top. She then said for $10 more she could go back and put the gel white on top of my P&W....do you think I'm going to reward you for intentionally screwing up my nails? No. Never returning here again. Places like this remind me why finding a new nail salon in a new area is what I absolutely...
