Happened upon these "Brothers" about a week ago. Was referred by a client of mine. I stopped in and said I'd be back with my daughter and her 12 string Martin for help stringing it on her own next week. Rich said if it's after 5pm call me and I'll wait I'm usually here until 7pm. Daughter was gifted this special guitar from a dear friend that passed recently. She struggled to change the strings on her own without breaking them. Rich said he could help her. We also wanted an estimate on taking a "Backpack Martin" from a rightie to a leftie which has been the story of my Daughter's life as a leftie! It's expensive to be a leftie guitar player! We stopped in there today as promised and about 2 hours later Rich & my Daughter had restrung her 12 string, showed her all the how to's. Walked her through tuning it and we got our estimate on the "Backpack Martin"! There was alot more in between. They even have snacks & a Kuerig for guests. Dave is the other "Brother" in the duo and he was fantastic as he worked and played the guitars he was fixing. He was singing as he went too! It was a fantastic experience. They have been there almost 9 years and we didn't even know it! They are moving to a new location at the end of March just across the way. Will continue to use Rich & Dave. Thank you Rich for all of the time & effort you put into helping my daughter tonight. You gave of your time and you had everything there we needed! We'll be back! (there's your...
Read moreWe cannot say enough great things about Brothers Music Shop and Guitar repair! 50 years ago I had a Yamaha FG180. Two years ago my daughter found one in a music store in Virginia and purchased it for me as a surprise for Mother's day. The neck was in pretty bad shape, the tuner board was cracked due to stress from the tuners. We drove it up to Brothers Music Shop and they were very honest, telling me the cost of repair, concerns they had about repairing it, etc. However, they understood the sentimental value (and my daughter had found it and gave it to me as a gift). We all decided to give it a try and go forward with the repairs. THEY DID A WONDERFUL JOB!!! They repaired everything, the guitar plays and sounds great! (I have Martin guitars, but started on the Yamaha FG180, and it is wonderful to have it back in such great playing condition). Thank you...
Read moreDave did an amazing job setting up my new Taylor GS mini! It’s so comfortable to play now that I can’t put it down! Dave is very talented and very kind. He even gave me tips on how to maintain the guitar. I also met Rich and he is very kind as well. I’m so glad I made the 60 plus miles trip from NJ , it was well worth it! They are definitely the best acoustic guitar luthiers in tristate area. I highly recommend them for your acoustic guitar needs including restoration. Also I recommend that when you book your appointment, book a tour with Martin guitars ahead of time so that you can do the factory tour after you visit Dave and Rich. I’m so glad they mentioned the tour it was a great day in PA! The factory is only 10 minutes away from...
