This place is beautiful first and foremost. However, the experience was somewhat ruined by the older man who worked there (I guess?) who was super grumpy and rude.
I did a photo session there with a family today. It is open to the public and there were no rules about not doing photography from what I could find on the site. As soon as we came into the gardens, an older man came up pretty abruptly and told us to stay out of the beds. To which we abliged.
The ENTIRE time we were shooting he stood at the back of the gardens and looked at us with a disapproving glare. The kids were not damaging the flowers or running through the beds but they were running around on the grass and having fun as kids generally tend to do. I work with kids a lot. These kids weren't super loud and obnoxious yet, the man came up to us again and told us that we were not at a playground, that we were too loud, and that we showed no respect. Respect to who or what, I'm not really sure of still.
Again, I work with kids a lot in my line of work and these kids were not being bad, super loud, or destructive. The older guy just seemed like a grump who wanted something to complain about and police.
I was super excited about finding this new location but I definitely won't be going back with any younger kids.
