Michaels — Attraction in Eau Claire

Terrible service. None of the employees knew what they were doing. No one could tell me why the 20% off regular priced merchandise coupon wasn’t working even though my frame was full price and not in the restricted merchandise. I read through the restrictions and the employee was like “yeah I don’t know why it’s not working but you have to pay full price.” The coupon worked for every other color frame in the same size and same brand. I showed her the coupon working in checkout on my phone. She shrugged and said there is nothing she could do which is obviously a lie, I work in retail, I know you can apply a manual discount. I asked her if I could order online for in store pick-up, walk outside, and walk back in to pick it up so I could get the discount. She said I could do that but I would have to wait for them to put the frame back and repick it which would take a while and I couldn’t leave the store with the frame today. It was literally the most backwards conversation I’ve ever had in retail like why would you make a customer go through all of when you could just apply the 20% off and make life easier on everyone. I asked the employee if I should order the frame online with the coupon and simply return it in store using this full price receipt once it arrived, she said that was what I would have to do if I needed the frame today because she wasn’t giving me the discount in store no matter what, even though she couldn’t give me a reason why this particular color frame wasn’t eligible. Seriously these employees have no idea what they are doing. If I could give zero stars I would. I guess I’ll be shopping at Joann Fabrics from now on where the employees...

I love Michael's it is laid out so easy to find things. Labeled, organized, plus customer service comes around asking if they can help you within a short time of entry. Always have enjoyed this store and after being at another similar company & going nuts finding things. Loving product but so unorganized and labeled poorly ect. It was such a remarkable experience to be here where it was joyful from start to finish. I could have spent mega dollars here too, the flowers are so realistic I wanted to take them all home. We purchased some art supplies and could have done a lot more damage to my pocket book & probably will down the line but was getting so tired out had to leave. Post operative & hit the point of no return exhaustion. Love their store though, my friend & I are both so impressed with the lay out & organization of products. Have been to this location three times (including today) and I've had terrible customer service all three times. Today, I went to buy some simple artboard to put in my frames to protect some photos. Picked out one large sheet because it would be easily cut to size. Asked the lady in the custom framing section if she'd help by just cutting the board to the sizes I needed if I purchased the board ahead of time because they have large paper cutters (Hobby Lobby has always been happy to do this). She laughed at me and said, "No, we only use our cutting supplies for people who purchase custom frames and custom mats", and then fed me some bogus rhetoric about how the blades are only designed to cut matting board (which was basically exactly what I was purchasing). Needless to say, I can't wait for the Eau Claire Hobby Lobby to open, as I will not be returning to this...
