Micon Cinema Eau Claire — Attraction in Eau Claire

Just moved to Chippewa Valley Area just about year but haven’t made many friends in person yet. However, ran across a great group of people on Facebook that were meeting to see Avengers End Game and invited me join them at the Micon Theatre. I love movies and have been a Micon “Vip” rewards member at the Eau Claire location since the first weekend I moved here from Iowa City. I never realized, till showing up 45 minutes before the movie today as planned by the group that there’s more than one Micon regular price location in this area. After nobody else showed up I realized they may have gone to the other location and I tried to access Facebook to verify that but was not able to access the theaters guest Wi-Fi in the “VIP” lounge. I asked for the Micon guest password and explained the situation to several staff members including the manager who told me I had to call the FB group using the payphone and got a different excuse for not giving me the password from every employee I pleaded with, “ I don’t even remember it” “ the guest wifi is for vendors only!” “ this is a theatre, we don’t want to encourage customers to go online! “ I explained everyone was meeting outside the VIP lounge and I again explained, “ I’m not able to call those I met on FB and I would be flaking on the group and watching alone.” The manager shrugged her shoulders and said “ what ev! “ Nothing I can do! “ So, if you want to be treated like you don’t matter not like a Very important person at all definitely go to Micon theater in Eau Claire. Not the their competition at the mall who has Wifi with less...

We went to go see "the invisible man", the movie was decent besides a few minor exploits though I'm not here to criticize the movie by any means I am writing a review of the cinema. I am giving you 2 stars because the individual who seen us was not inviting. They had a very minimal approach to customer service, not making much conversation, after a brief checkout to get our tickets with the inattentive attendant. We sat down to watch the aforementioned movie, about halfway through the movie our sound quality had greatly diminished due to the immense noise coming from the action movie next door not only overpowering the audio for our featured presentation but actually making it inaudible. This is a problem for movie theaters as watching a movie is the MAIN reason ANYONE goes to the movie theaters and now that theaters are becoming a dieing breed it shouldnt become so hard to enjoy such nostalgic moments. And I'm not even going to say anything about the prices for food we all know theaters charge you 3...

As a theater this place has been fantastic and deserves close to 5 stars. This review is purely about their absolutely awful broken website.

When you visit the website (on mobile and occasionally on the computer) most of the links are broken or just lead back to the homepage. It's absolutely impossible to find the showtimes due to this, which leads to it being impossible to buy tickets in advance.

Their website has been in various states of broken for a number of years now and I really can't believe that getting a functioning site hasn't been the top priority. The old website was uglier and a bit clunky to get around yes, but at least it worked for the most part.

I've been to smaller, jankier independent cinemas with perfectly easy to navigate functioning websites. There's absolutely no excuse for it.
