The Russell Home Thrift Store — Attraction in Edgewood

First I want to disclose How much Russell’s Home Thrift Store has helped me over the years. I absolutely loved this place!!! So much that my 2nd day back in Florida the first thoughts to cross my mind was Russell home thrift store!! my experience this one time probably has it. I’ll never go back. That’s super sad for me.! The person behind the counter consistently making jokes about me doesn’t know me, but making jokes about me when I asked there was a fitting room because I didn’t know my size and I’ve gained a lot of weight. He made fat jokes and told me no, and then when I had to call an Uber, he made jokes about that too. He just never stopped so I get back to my hotel because that’s where I live in a hotel after spending $100 all the clothes -3 items don’t fit me. I know that’s not their fault. I should know my size and when I called and spoke with one of the workers that I have known probably for gazillion years, I don’t know. I’ve been shopping there for 15/20 years. Really was uninterested and the outcome of my experience I feel along with the waste of money and the verbal harassment from the man behind the counter that just didn’t stop. I don’t know if I’ll ever go back and I absolutely loved this place. I have attached copies of my receipts. The first picture after the receipts are the items I’m able to keep in the second picture other than the cooker and the toaster oven our items that I just threw away money five dollars dress three dresses four dollars for shorts four dollars for pants four dollars for shirts. Went today showed up at 3:46 PM. The store was full of customers, but yet I was met at the door with a man signaling cutthroat across his neck, as I continue to walk towards the door to see the hours of operation sign. He continued to do the cutthroat and pointed to the hoyrs of operation sign. That’s when I started talking and communicating that it was 3:46 pm, he opened the door and said we closed early to get everybody out. I then said oh no is everything okay, was there an emergency? A tall lanky man walked up and said I know what time it is but we’re closed. How incredibly rude. I went back to my car to make a call and watched several other potential customers walk up to the Be given the same signal as me. One lady tried to reason with him and explained that it wasn’t 4 o’clock when a shorter man with gray hair and a beard walked up and over to my car. While on my phone I then jokingly made the cutthroat signal to him. I don’t think he found it funny as he started to tell me they were closing in three minutes, I said, but I thought you were already closed. then said it doesn’t feel good to be treated badly does it and I would give a bad review he told me he didn’t need my business! Wow, shameful! After being a shopper of over 15 years I will never go back to give them donation nor a penny of my hard earned money. Do better Russell Home...

I have adored this thrift store for years, but unfortunately will not be returning. Prices have sky rocketed in general. Today I decided to grab a few shirts, all shirts are labeled $4 each, but more than half of the shirts I picked out were Walmart brand, (I just needed a few lazy house shirts) I asked the cashier if she could do atleast $3 on the Walmart branded shirt and she said no, it balances out with the other shirts you got. Okay.. for $4 a shirt I would rather just buy them new. Every time I go in, I get my dog stuffed animals, today I found a horse at the bottom of the bucket, price says $2 each but I was charged $5 at the register. Lately it honestly seems like things aren’t really priced, and the whoever is the cashier gets to decide what they think it’s worth. It’s been very inconsistent. On my last trip I purchased around 20 frames. I asked the cashier if she could give me a discount because I got so many, and she very rudely said these are the prices, you need to figure it out because I have other people waiting in line. It made me feel pressured and ended up appended almost $100 on around 20 frames. I love supporting you guys, and bring all of my donations here, but will be seeking out other stores...
