My friends and I really love this place and visit often! As some of the reviews say, you will miss it if you are trying to find it in the strip mall. It is hidden in the corner. NOT accessible if you cannot do stairs as the entrance is a long stairwell. Affordable for a group. I belive they charge per room and not per person so bring a large enough group! It is mainly BYOB. We always stop at the liquor store on the way. There is also an awesome Ramen place next door where you and your group can eat before. If not, you can grab snacks wherever and bring them.
As for the studio itself, they no not have heating so if you come now, during the winter, BRING YOUR COAT! Because they lut you in private rooms, they tend to heat up after a while of drinking and singing (we are always cold when we get in and sweaty when we leave). They have cold AC for the summer but it also gets really hot in general. If you go on a hot day, bring cold drinks and water with you.
I could do without the flashing lights as they irtitate my head but it is manageable if i look the opposite way most of the time. Plus most people like them, I'm sure.
The mics themselves have a TON of reverb. Sorta in a good way, but not at the same time. It covers up bad singing to a degree but it is also really loud if you try to belt it out. Keep in mind that if you are a singer trained to project your voice, hold the microphone a little bit farther away from you face.
The song choices (at least for english) are not the best I've seen. I listen to a lot of alternative which i guess isn't the most popular overseas. I believe the song choices are based off of bands that got really popular in asia. There is a TON of Linkin Park but not much Fall Out Boy if that makes sense. I suggest making a list of artists you like to sing before you go, not just songs, so it will be easier to find something. If you try to sing a song from an anime or something, the text is in the characters of that language.

The entrance is definitely hard to find, you sort of have to know where it is. It's sort of hidden in the interior corner of the strip mall.
For anyone that is not sure of the atmosphere of this place it is not the open-bar type of Karaoke where you are singing in front of random people. You get a private room for you and your friends.
This place is mainly catered to Korean music but the catalog has A LOT of English songs. I can't speak for any of the non English songs in their catalog, but what I can elaborate on is song availability for English speakers. For English speakers so long as you know pop, rock, and rap music from the 90s, 2000s, 2010s, and the 2020s you'll have a good time. What I can say for certain about their catalog is if you're expecting Megadeth or any sort of metal it obviously won't be here along with other niche genres lol. But so long as you know plenty of radio type songs or songs you'll hear in the mall or at the gym there is MORE than enough of English songs for you to be singing happily for multiple hours straight.
As for food I think they only offer things like bags of chips and bottled / canned drinks. You're definitely expected to be coming here after...
Read moreThis is (at the time of writing this review) 1 of 2 locations in the entire Central Jersey area that offers an Asian Karaoke experience. If you want more than 2 options to choose from for that kind of experience, your next closest area would be in the northern part of the state (Fort Lee/Palisades Park area).
There isn't really anything bad to say about Echo. It's a very no-frills spot. If you've been to any Korean-owned karaoke business, you will know what to expect. There may be a learning curve for the uninitiated (the controller and the system are not intuitive), but for anyone who knows what they're looking for, you will find that here. The rooms come in a variety of sizes, and the tables and seating are always plentiful. If you want any kind of food or drink, be prepared to...
