IGO - Indian Grocery Outlet — Attraction in Edison

Some of the people who work in IGO are very rude, arrogant and unprofessional. Now their rude behavior has been a talk of the town, I wonder how come owner or supervisors are so ignorant and not training their staff. We are living in Edison area from the past 11 years and have shopped in almost all Indian groceries but never have come across such rude customer service. One time I have been charged excessively, I happen to recount after the billing and got it corrected thinking it was just a mistake. Next time cashier does not want to wait till I put my bags in the cart, she is insisting me to first pay and then put rest of my bags in the cart, I had many bags on the counter and was concerned of the mixing up with other customer’s bags, but she does not care. Instead of forcing customer to pay, they can help the customer to load the bags in the cart and then take the payment and proceed to next customer quickly. But some of the employees here do not even have common curtesy. One of the ladies at flower counter speaks highly abusive; my neighbor also has the same experience with this lady. Then on we never went for flowers to IGO One of the 10lb rice bag was full with bugs. After all these bad experiences we have stopped going to IGO. Thankfully we have many better Indian groceries to...

I took a bottle of soda, after take a small sip It tasted very bitter, it was very different than a regular soda, it had perhaps gone bad... i went to customer service with product complaint and they said they will not take it back in the rudest way possible. I had spoken to few employees and Sr Supervisor in the shop and no one was helping. They said once the bottle is opened they cannot take it back.

I was wondering how the customer would know the product is stale or bad without opening it ?

I would salute walmart and other shops who put customer satisfaction first. If this would have been walmart they would instantly take it and would also apologize on behalf of the product manufacturer.

I have been shopping from this Indian Grocery Outlet from quite sometime, and this would by my last shopping from this shop. I would never come to this place again. A little portion of profit from my shopping should not go to these people again.

They are yet to learn a lot about customer satisfaction and how that effect their growth...

Parking lots are disorganized and in terms of the store it was somewhat dirty. The cashier who I ended up going to held racial bias and rather than ranting on Google reviews this is just a warning that the shop isn't exactly black shopper friendly even though some of the personnel are as dark and darker than me! I even went to the flower counter to ask where saffron was and the lady lied to my face and acted like she didn't know what she was talking about even though she worked there and only proceeded to direct me once a nice Indian couple shopping told me where it was as she wasn't helping at all. Only went to get saffron out of convenience to how close it was to where I was beforehand and because H Mart didn't have a big selection. If H Mart had more of an Indian spice selection and had I known this would be my experience beforehand I wouldn't have gone and I don't recommend it.
