Rorschach Gallery — Attraction in Edison

To put it into perspective, I've got 6 large tattoos spanning 12 sessions of between 5-6 hours each. I'd like to consider myself rather knowledgeable in this realm. My experience with Rorschach Gallery & Brian Mahovetz (Sunday Brian) has been the best yet. The culture of the gallery itself is barbershop-esque in the best of ways. The staff aren't just friendly with their own clients, but with everyone's clients, engaging in riveting conversations about a myriad of topics while simultaneously being efficient and effective in their work. If you're the quiet type, there is no obligation to engage, all are welcome to sit or lay silently and get tattooed by some of the best artists they'll encounter if they wish. Those who are especially social will find Rorschach Gallery to their liking.

The artists are wildly talented, I follow a number of them on Instagram. Sunday Brian is a co-owner and he worked on my American Flag full sleeve tattoo. To say that he did a great job would be an understatement. A better description would be that there is no element of the art, nor the experience that could have gone better, simply perfect all-around.

I find myself now looking for more tattoos I could possibly get. Truth-be-told, I hadn't expected to want another tattoo so quickly after my last. But the extraordinary quality of Brian's work, and the engaging environment of staff that he has cultivated, makes you wish you could hang out at the shop even when your art is complete.

Bottom line: Get your tattoo at Rorschach Gallery and you'll never want to get a tattoo...

I can't even imagine going anywhere else for my tattoos or piercings after the experiences I've had here. The staff is filled with great people, the shop itself is beautiful, and they have so much to offer.

Since my first time going to Rorschach a few months ago I've already been back 4 or 5 times. I had my hip dermals, belly button, and both sides of my nose pierced here by Alex Santos. The piercings are some of the best prices I've seen around and are professionally done. The piercing station is clean and comfortable. Alex is a confident piercer who definitely knows what he's doing. Very funny, easy to talk to and has no problem answering any questions about your piercing.

After meeting Rorschach's extremely funny and friendly staff for the first time I was back 2 weeks later (if that) getting a border around an existing tattoo. This is where I met Dan Ward (Doodles)! I walked in, told him my idea, and he had no problem taking me right in and working with me to make this tattoo even better. I couldn't have been happier with the result... In fact, I have an appointment with him this afternoon for another piece! Incredibly talented guy and truly passionate for art.

I've been to other tattoo/piercing shops where it was almost uncomfortable and seemed as though the staff wasn't interested in anything but getting the job done and barley even spoke to me. Totally different environment at Rorschach Gallery. The staff seem to love what they do and makes it a point to get to know their clients. They always have me itching to come back.

This was my first visit to Rorschach Edison, and just like the Hillsborough location, it was super clean, and well-kept. The guy at the front desk, Dom (I am bad with names, so I really hope I got this right) was such a sweetheart. Very professional and kind. All protective measures for COVID-19 are taken at Rorschach Edison. Only customers getting services are allowed inside. You are kindly asked to wear a mask inside. Upon entering, I had my temperature taken as well. Forms being filled out are sent to your phone via QR scan for extra protection.

Today I went to Alex at Black Moon Piercing (located inside Rorschach Gallery) for a nostril piercing. He was incredibly knowledgeable, professional and kind. I appreciated that Alex asked if I liked the position of the mark where my piercing would be prior to piercing. I received great instruction on aftercare as well. Highly recommend Alex!

Next, I sat with Hoagie for my 3rd tattoo with him. Hoagie is the best! Very talented, professional and just a great guy all around. Hoagie pays attention to detail and makes sure you are happy with placement and size prior to tattooing. He gives his opinion which I find to be very helpful. I love all of my tattoos from Hoagie. Both Hoagie and Alex made sure to ask if I was comfortable during and after services. Rorschach Edison has handicap accessible entry in the back and ramps for wheelchair access. They are very accommodating towards their customer's needs. I highly recommend visiting Rorschach Gallery in Edison (Hillsborough too!). You will love...
