Went with a friend around 8:00pm after a birthday happy hour with others. My friend and I ordered white wines, a scallop entree to share, coffee and dessert! We just wanted to catch up in a nice quiet environment. The service is excellent, our server was very nice, friendly and attentive! The ambiance was very nice and relaxed. No stress here, not noisy at all! The scallops came with risotto and asparagus. The scallops ( approximately $30.50 for 6 ) were cooked perfectly ( they had a nice sear ) and seasoned just right! The risotto was creamy and delicious! I will definitely go back for a regular dinner. I’ve been there a few times in the past but now the service, food and atmosphere are excellent! Thank you Seasons 52 for a really wonderful experience after a stressful day!

On Easter Sunday, my family and I had a distressing encounter with racism during our dinner at Seasons 52 in Edison. Despite having a reservation and arriving punctually, we were directed to the extended seating area of the restaurant. It quickly became apparent that all the patrons of color were seated in this section, an unsettling realization considering the upscale nature of the establishment where one could easily rack up a $250+ bill. As an Asian American, I initially brushed it off as mere coincidence.
However, my discomfort escalated when I observed a white family being seated in the main dining area near the bar, while another African American family was relegated to the extended area alongside us. The discriminatory seating arrangement became even more evident when a large African American family finished their meal at a nearby table. Instead of allowing us to enjoy our dinner in peace, the manager promptly began dismantling the setup with no regard for our dining experience. Chairs were noisily stacked, tables were moved hastily, and the blinds were lifted, flooding our area with harsh sunlight, all without a word of consideration for our presence.
Despite my attempts to ignore the blatant disregard for our comfort, my sons, aged 23 and 17, pointed out the evident pattern of discrimination. It was then I felt compelled to speak to the manager on behalf of my family. While one manager acknowledged the error and offered an apology, it was Dolores Carrera, the manager responsible for the disruptive actions, who displayed a defensive and dismissive attitude upon my attempt to address the issue. Despite her attempts to justify her actions, it was clear she lacked the willingness to acknowledge the harm caused by her behavior.
Disheartened by the manager's refusal to listen or show remorse, I requested her departure from our table. Another manager intervened, offering apologies and insisting that our meal would be comped. Although I insisted on paying, they refused, and we reluctantly left our dinner unfinished.
Having been a patron of Seasons 52 on numerous occasions, I had never encountered such overt racism. It is imperative that management take proactive steps to train their staff on issues of racial sensitivity and inclusivity. No patron should ever have to endure the humiliation and discomfort inflicted upon my family during what should have been a joyous...
Read moreThe restaurant's name, "Seasons 52" is a reminder that their menu does change with the seasons throughout the year. We went to Seasons 52 for a family dinner tonight celebrating a birthday. In the attached photograph on the table (with a birthday candle) is the Seasons 52 desert tray. This is a delicious assortment of happy sweet endings to a meal but you only get to select one!
Our family dinner started with appetizers including Avocado Toast topped with salad greens on GF flatbread served chilled and their special GF warm Flatbread Tomato and Cheese (better than pizza). There was another one but I did not have any so I don't remember what it was. It was good though since it got eaten quickly! We also had soup, salads, salmon, and scallops - with broccoli and their specialty - small round roasted potatoes of different colors. Everything was very good.
I have gone to Seasons 52 in a few places including Menlo Park, Edison and in Princeton. I love this place - the food is consistently good, always clean, they seat us quickly, and the servers do better than most. I only wish they would have a simple desert, maybe ice cream for GF guests. We enjoyed another GF Flatbread Roma Tomato (pizza) while some of us had the decadent Seasons 52 specialty deserts.
Our server. Lewis, was particularly attentive and made our birthday guest of honor feel special. It was Lewis that brought oIut the desert tray with a lit candle, started the "Happy Birthday" song. It was his idea to take the photo and he texted it to our phone.
Great birthday dinner with good food, family birthday photo and good service! Go to Seasons 52 with your family and friends! ADA accessible parking and entrance. Vegetarian...
