(Previous Vendor Perspective) I am a super small craft business and I tried selling mostly acrylic art pieces ($15-$35)and various crafts that I delved into, such as earrings($10-$15), necklaces($15), bracelets($4-$10), and other various art. I didn't have a great experience not totally due to Painted Tree but because it seemed what sold the best were smiley stickers and Stanley cup straw covers that I did not make. If you are getting cheap boutique items and marking them up a ton I am sure you could make plenty and that's what this is designed for... I just wanted to touch on the fact if you are a handmade seller I would say this isn't the best location for your art/crafts if you're trying to make profit off of them. I never once made my booth rent in sales in my 12 months of owning the shop. I did get pretty close twice. I will say, I lived just far enough away that visiting to maintain my booth frequently wasn't appealing when I wasn't selling much anyways. Often I found my earrings had been spread across the store and sat in other booths which kind of sucked. As well as other sellers stickers and small trinkets placed in mine. Once in the beginning I even showed up and blue prints were spread across my table and my items were moved off of it. I didn't care at the time that they utilized my space because the new-ness was exciting but looking back on it I realized my bench from my table had been moved out frequently for use and it's annoying to this day. It does seem a bit understaffed at times and I have a feeling a lot of sellers product goes missing. Just kind of sucks the booth rent is so high AND on top of it they take a 10% cut of what you sell. A great business design for Painted Tree and not so much for local artists in OKC. But I think a balance could be found. The owner was incredibly nice it just wasn't a good fit for what I made and where I live in relation to the store. I hope it survives and adjust to what works best for vendors in OKC! But if the rates remain high I would NOT recommend renting a booth here. Go to Stompin' Ground of NW Expressway or find a local shop or even fairs are probably better.
(From a shoppers perspective) This is a SUPER CUTE place to spend a couple hours with a friend looking at a bunch of boutique items all in one place. The variety is cool and every once in a while you stumble upon some handmade unique booth such as little hand built pottery or paintings from local artists. Definitely worth the trip and support small businesses and find unique gifts for your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had not been to this place at all and found some sports team support clothes my family wanted, locally made and at a really great price with really great quality, from an online tip on FB Marketplace. When I got there this place is a cross between a boutique outlet if stalls and a high end flea market . They gave clothes and spices, jelly and jam, giant sock collections, hats and accessories, casual and mid priced overstock of casual wear and things for the home. It is hard to describe but no fewer than 8 aisles with two sides running the length of the building This place did not have any small dining area with coffee and tea ...which usually allows shoppers to meet up for such before or after, or to take a break in the middle. It is that kind of place. All check out is at a counter. So the shopper buys marked merchandise from all vendors and then you pay out at one counter as you leave. I don't think any shipping is available. And people go here to find one thing but then buy other stuff. Many go together and chat about all types of finds. I saw many women and girls here and a couple of men, but I went during the business day. All staff are cheerful and most shoppers are very pleased with their finds. I found $10-12 shirts celebrating the Oklahoma City Thunder. All cotton with a local unique design that is not too much :) and could be worn for any basic T-shirt event or game day spirit. Met the seller online with feedback about my shopping at her booth and the check out and made a friend and gave her some possible tips on helping some elders get...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy mom drove 6 hours from Louisiana, it was my idea to bring her to the store coming from Norman (about a 40 min drive for us). It was our first time there. We were over half way around the store and had a few items including some candy that the baby wanted to open, and the other she could break. Having been a bit stressed from the baby & her wanting the items and candy, we asked if we could leave the items at the counter while we finished the last bit of shopping. We were surprised when the girl at the counter (in a rude tone of voice) explained we needed to get a basket for our items. We asked if we could we please just leave them up there bc we were almost done shopping and bc of the baby. She proceeded in a āmatter of factā tone that, no, we needed to get a basket. We couldnāt leave our items up there although we would just be a minute. It really was upsetting because we go to boutique shops ALL the time. Needless to say we walked out without purchase or looking at the rest of the store.. Because if they truly wanted our business they would have accommodated us for 5 minutes!! We are so disappointed and appalled⦠Im so embarrassed because my moms first impression (and mine) was so disappointing.. Iām giving this store a 1 rightfully so.. Friendly customer service and understanding is everything in the Boutique world. Not everything is black & white especially when it comes to customer service (from experience). We have been to 70 plus shops and not one would have...
