This place is awful. Let's start first with the clear lack of cleanliness that the manager allows in the restaurant. 6 of the tables were dirty the entire time I was there. 6 out of 14. And a manager was sitting at one of the clean tables doing work on her computer. The tables were bussed but never sanitized or wiped down so they were all still covered in food. Its impossible to be successful if 50% of your tables arent seatable. I mentioned to my daughter who tried to sit at a dirty table that we needed to sit at a clean one. The manager only three feet away heard the whole thing. This was before we got our food. And I will reiterate the tables were dirty the entire 30 minutes we were there. The manager sat there occasionally tuned into my family's conversation and never did anything to clean the tables. She didn't ask an employee to do so, didnt do it herself, didnt even acknowledge it.
Second. Our meal was 35.00.... for three PB&J meals a quarter chicken and a bbq sandwich. I knew it was pricy going in, i was looking forward to quality. The problem is the quality wasn't there. This was my third time there and i can tell the chickens are much smaller. MUCH MUCH smaller. The chicken breast was smaller than the size of my palm and i wear a medium sized glove. Also they are the only place I've seen burn Mac and Cheese. And even though they burnt it they still brought it out and put it infront of ny daughter.... guess who didn't want her favorite food? Being a former restaraunt manager myself i decided not to say anything and leave peacefully. If someone is willing to allow thwir front of house become as dirty as this location did, then i cant imagine what their back of house looks like where the customer cant see. I hope this review makes it to the top so that these problems can be addressed and corrected. Your customers deserve better, Your business employees deserve better and the owners of this business deserve better...
Read moreAs a first-time guest of Cowboy Chicken, here are my thoughts:
Walking in, the smell alone makes you all sorts of happy dance kind of happy. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Cool seeing the chicken roaster fueled by logs and a hot fire.
We ordered a family meal for four with twice baked potatoes, broccoli, and corn fritters.
The chicken itself was very flavorful and juicy, albeit cold. The twice baked potatoes were room temperature at best and looked like they were mixed with rice. They still tasted great. The broccoli was barely cooked, even after confirming with the cashier that it would be very soft so a member of our party could actually eat it. After taking it back to the counter for a second cooking, it was still very firm and inedible, so we traded it for fresh green beans, which I normally love. They were very bitter and barely cooked. It reminded me of boiled brussel sprouts. The corn fritters seemed to be creamed corn fritters, as they appeared to be undercooked. The rolls were very soft but not warm, so the very cold butter did not melt once applied.
Overall, it was only okay. It's a great concept, but hot food would be wonderful, as well as sides that are thoroughly cooked and steaming hot would be nice as well. Not so sure it is worth a return. We left...
Read moreUpdate: I have not only heard back from Cowboy Chicken in Edmond but also one of the General Managers in Texas regarding our poor experience. The edmond store refunded 50% of our meal costs and the general manager is taking action to make sure this doesn’t happen again. It’s not often you hear back from a restaurant you have given a bad review. I want to thank Cowboy Chicken for their refund and emails regarding our concerns. I’m putting Cowboy Chicken back on our favorites list. Thanks so much for your response.
We did take out and we have been doing take here since it opened. Even buying holiday meals. But this was the worst food we have ever received. The chicken was ok everything else was horrible. I paid a lot for a Monterey salad that only had some greens, a few sprinkles of cheese and about 1/2 of an avocado. Nothing else. They sent the wrong dressing. The mashed potatoes were fake. The roll was hard as a rock and tasteless. We are not use to this type of poor quality from...
