Went there for my youngest granddaughter's softball tournament. I'm giving it a 4 because I don't know what the other fields look like. It may be a 5☆ but for now, a 4. It was nice having the restrooms right in the middle, instead of some of these kinds of parks which have portables that you have to walk a country mile to get to... ok. Maybe not quite that far, but it's challenging for some of us oldies but goldies when our... waste management systems have been... compromised over the years. "What's grandpa talking about, Dad? What's waste management?" "Well, you'll find out some day... hopefully not for a very long time! 😳" We played on the T-ball field, which is an artificial surface. Great for T-ball. NOT for softball. Praise the Lord, no one got seriously injured from the balls bouncing off the ground faster. If I go there again, I'll look at the other fields & update. Not sure about dog-friendly. I didn't look to see if there were those horny goat weeds around. But there's a big open field across the parking lot drive that I'm sure people walk their dogs.. and hopefully pick up after. I don't understand people who walk their dogs & don't pick up after them. I took our 2 little girls to a park the other day. Right in front of the sign w the box of doggy bags someone let their big dog leave a big dump. How rude, inconsiderate & immature. But alas, I digress. I played w my grandsons in-between games & we didn't smell... funky... well, ok. But the fact they hadn't showered is irrelevant to whether we ran into dog mines or not. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 It was a nice park overall. Actually I'm giving it 5. If I find the other fields bad, then...
Read moreI came to this park for lunch around 4pm there was plenty of shade on the side with the playground. My beautiful friend and i were taken by the cleanliness and upkept quality in the playground next to the benches we ate our jack in the box tacos. Which you can get two of for only a buck n some change....but thats a story for another day... Anyways the floor in the playground is made if that ground up recycled rubber. So its soft and wasn't hot like sand. The grass and vegetation is well kept. But the tables do need some regular upkeep as they are directly under a tree and our tacos were in constant jeopardy of the birds above and there were some spots on the table that were covered in bird dung....nothing too exaggerated. But i think thats a small price to pay for amazing comfort. The only thing i dislike is that i didnt have more time to...
Read moreI wouldn't be able to tell you my experience because it was closed. It is also listed as a baseball park, but all I seem to have access to is softball parks. My hobby is pitching baseballs. It is hard to find a actual baseball field with a mound to practice. I have to travel over 20 minutes to get someplace like ascarate Park to hopefully be able to. Either that or pay to enter an indoor establishment to be able to practice at all. It would just be nice if there was actual baseball parks and not just softball parks to practice on. Website says that Ponder park closes at 11. I understand about the pandemic but I'm just saying it needs to be updated because I wasted almost 20 minutes getting here to find out it was closed and that the only accessible Fields I could see was softball fields not...
