Last year my wife attempted to start their vet tech program. First the man enrolling her lied about the cost he gave us covering both the vet assistant and vet tech program. We both asked him numerous times because it seemed low to us for both of the programs. He kept insisting that the price was for both. Then he also lied about her getting right into the vet tech program because of her initial entry test score. On my wife's first day, her instructor informed the class that going on to vet tech depended on how well you do in the vet assistant program. After a week my wife got called into the financial aid office and was told she needed to figure out payment plans when we were originally told it was all covered from everything she applied for before she strated, FAFSA and grants. She was also told the actual full price of both the assistant and tech program together, which was a huge difference from what the man who enrolled her told us. What we later found out was, because I'm a veteran, they automatically assumed she was using VA benefits to cover the left over cost after what FAFSA and grants covered, even after we told him she could not use my VA benefits. They didn't ask or anything. So she spent the next week stressing on applying for student loans. We found out we made too much for that. So the school dropped her. Months later we get a bill stating she owes them money. They made the mistakes and said she was good to start, they assumed the left over cost was being covered by VA, even though we told the man at enrollment that she could not use my VA benefits, and didn't even inform us that there were any additional costs needing to be covered after what she got from FAFSA and grants. Yet they want money for their mistake. My wife was so excited to finally know what she wanted a degree in. She was ecstatic about this journey, and because of some dishonest staff and unorganized school with a huge lack of communication , that was all taken away from her. It may be beautiful on the inside and the staff may be super friendly, but be very cautious when looking into...
Read moreI would give zero stars if I could. The WORST experience I’ve ever had with a “college” that is supposed to help students not take advantage of their money. I attended Pima from July-Oct 2023 for their sonography program which is a total joke! They fail students for not being good in general education classes; with a zero chance to make it to the actual program. The short time I was there I noticed a great amount of favoritism, along with “teachers” that shouldn’t be teaching because they lack experience or an actual teaching degree! Their grading system is ridiculous and quite unrealistic compared to an actual university. Which I have a bachelors degree so I know what I’m talking about. They get as many students into the program only to fail a few, and make a few extra thousand dollars off of those poor chumps. I’m stuck with almost $10,000 in debt for one semester!!! With nothing to show for it because their “credits” don’t even transfer to a university. The class I was in had about 22 students we hardly fit in class, and they had the audacity to remind us daily not all of us would make it. Because they fail you intentionally especially if you don’t kiss up to the instructors or director. The director spends lecture time talking about her personal life or irrelevant things that don’t pertain to her class. Not to mention she’s best friends with the gen ed instructor, and that’s the only reason I believe that lady hasn’t been fired yet because she’s a terrible teacher. There’s so much drama and unprofessionalism in that program I’m actually glad I got out early enough. Attending Pima was the WORST mistake of my life because I can’t get that lost time back, and I’m still having to pay them for their mediocre “education.” Please steer clear of this school, or any private school. You’re better off attending community college even if it take a 2 yr wait time. You will receive a better education and a guaranteed degree with...
Read moreI wouldn't recommend. Brenda was my biggest problem if I'm being honest, the teachers were good but it was Brenda at the end who is the main reason I wouldn't recommend this place and would suggest community college. For starters, if I wanted to change programs she informed me I had to drop out and then I could switch programs. My advisor and I kept emailing and texting (I was doing the texting) Brenda asking her about any updates about me dropping out in order for me to change programs. For NINE days she didn't answer anyone. But conveniently she was able to message me on the tenth day to talk about absences but yet she wasn't able to respond the nine other days?? I informed her about the situation and her excuse was "You came in to talk about switching from Dental Assisting to Phlebotomy but changed your mind because you wouldn't have been able to pay off the days you were in Dental." I told her I was aware of the conversation. I also informed her that if she wasn't purposely ignoring my advisor and I then she would've known I wanted to switch to the Sonographer program. She was finally able to send me the paperwork to drop out. But my other problem is, is that I got an F in a course that I could've passed or at least had a "W" in, if she was actually doing her job and on top of that, I would have to pay back not only for the two days I was in class, but for the nine days she for some reason she wasn't acknowledging anyone and the tenth day where she decided she wanted to do her job only because of the 10 absences. I have screenshots of the emails and messages that I'm willing to post on social media if she decides to deny ANYTHING. This was back in 2022-23 for reference. Basically Brenda is money hungry individual, because why else would she be...
