Great, convenient El Paso Hotel. I have stayed there twice, always have had a great stay. When I booked this time, they sent an email letting me know there are ongoing renovations. When I arrived they were painting the exterior of the hotel, so parking on the side and back was limited but wasn't a big deal, still plenty of parking. When I checked in I asked about possibly getting a room on the first floor, the young lady at the front desk told me there were no more suites available and that I would enjoy my suite because it was one of the rooms recently renovated. She was right, the suite was very, very nice! Spacious, nice furniture and big TV's in both rooms. Everything down to the thermostat was updated. One issue I had was the sofa, it was hard as a rock and very uncomfortable, I spent more time using the office chair at the table. Other things that were not issues, just strange or odd: During my stay they notified me that the chairs were going to be replaced. Didn't see a huge issues with the old ones, they looked in good condition to me. I don't know who was in charge of purchasing the chairs but in the suites the chairs are at the counter facing the kitchen, all were barstools that were the perfect height, however they replaced them with regular chairs that are about 2 feet shorter, this made it impossible to eat on the countertop unless you were standing. Clearly they did not think that through. I needed to wash some clothes, asked the front desk if they had change, they did, when I asked how much it costs they told me it was $3 to wash and $3 to dry!! That's insane, with the rates people are paying for hotels, the laundry room should be free, especially for Gold and Diamond members. I'm staying at another Hilton property in El Paso right now, I called them and asked how much their laundry facilities costs, they told me $1.50 for wash and dry. Shame on you for that Hampton Inn! Breakfast was pretty much horrible, maybe I"m picky but it's really simple....just do eggs and bacon everyday. The eggs with diced ham was disgusting, one day there was some kind of round thing that I guess was supposed be an omelette, didn't have to try that, another day there was some canned type of ham. If you want waffles and oatmeal, it's OK. Those things were minor and would not prevent me from staying there again, great location closed to everything and right off the freeway. Friendly staff and plenty of parking....
Read moreI selected this hotel because I’m a Hilton Honors member and it is at a nice location in El Paso… Although the Marriott next-door looked like a nicer property, I was counting on my Hilton Honors experience for this to be a good stay…I was wrong. The rooms are older and not kept up well. There are stains in the bathroom and on the walls that could have been tidied up. The caulking in the bathroom is in bad need of repair. The linens were very wrinkled, and I was not confident in their cleanliness. I have a king suite and it is parsley decorated. I guess I am more accustomed to Hilton Garden Inn, decor, and amenities but, I did not expect the Hampton Inn to be so different…|After staying the first night, I decided to update this review to take notice of the shower: there was no bath mat, only two towels and, most disturbingly, there was hair in the shower… Lots of hair in the corners… The shower had obviously not been cleaned…|Also two of the towels had holes in them… There’s no place to post photos here, but I will add another review site.|The front desk staff young lady that we encountered was not friendly like other Hilton staff whom I have encountered. Granted, I’m in Texas and I’m used to traveling on the East Coast but… I just assumed the Texas hospitality would be kinder. This particular front desk clerk was indifferent and snarky. Of note, there is apparently no benefit to being a Hilton Honors member at this hotel. I have been a Hilton Honors member for 20+ years and always have had exceptional service. Not at this property. I will not be...
Read moreEverything was smooth and awesome. Love the ease of checking in virtually and using our phone as a key. I just wish the girls in the front were more on the same page. I wanted to buy a bag of over night oats for $8. I looked for milk to purchase, and after waiting for their conversation to finish (it was a conversation about how long someone they knew had to wait to leave whenever they were at after so many shots.) I asked the front clerks. One of them told me I could buy the oats and she could just get me some milk from the back from the breakfast items. After going back to my room to ask what my daughter would like, we went back up and talked to the “how many shots” gal as the other lady wasn’t there. She told me I could use water if I wanted (Not for overnight oats? Even the directions on the back state to use milk) and that if I wanted milk, I could wait until the morning. I told her that’s not overnight oats work. They need milk and need to sit overnight. I let her know that the other person had told me she could give me milk from the breakfast area and she simply stated, “Well I was t here when that happened so…” No, you were there. You were just too caught up in your conversation about alcohol consumption.
Overall the hotel was super nice. Hot chocolate and coffee at night. Cannot access the pool via the phone app, but just wanted to check if it was heated. I’d...
