Saint Peter Cathedral is very beautiful inside; however, many of the parishioners are extremely judgemental, filled with hatred and malice, and forsake God's commandment to "love your neighbor as yourself." What ever happened to "do unto others as you would have them do unto you?" If you are attending the holy, Catholic mass - do it for our Heavenly Father and to advance His Kingdom on Earth. The mass is referred to as a celebration because, indeed, the veil between Heaven and Earth is lifted during this sacred worship. If you attend mass to bear false witness, get in on the latest gossip, or degrade a child of God, I suggest you get your heart right with God. Leave mass and return when others are able to see Christ in you. On one occasion, I witnessed an older lady grab her coat and fling it to the other side of her in a demonic fit and eerily scowl at the gentleman, all because he accidentally sat down on part of it. Where is the love, common decency, and respect that every creation of God deserves? No one owns a particular pew inside of any church. Period. I am offended by blasphemous behavior towards God in His own house. The homilies are in sync with life's ups and downs, the sacrificial life of a true servant, and aligned with Catholic tradition and teachings. "Brothers and sisters in Christ," is a term not to be taken lightly but quite literally. You cannot hate your neighbor and love God - judge not lest you be judged, let you without sin cast the first stone, it's hard to remove a spec from your brother's eye when you have a beam in your own, etc. Sound familiar? On a lighter note, the choir at Saint Peter Cathedral is amazing! It's one of my favorite parts of mass - their beautiful music stirs up the Holy Spirit and adds a transcending effect to mass.
