Me and my girlfriend were excited to try this place. We moved here from Los Angles a few years ago and we are always looking for a great thai restaurant. I am sorry to say this is not a great thai restaurant. Not a great restaurant by any standards. We showed up at 3:30 in the afternoon. The place was empty. We ordered Thai ice tea which we love and have had many times. This was the worst Thai ice tea either of us have ever had. To make matters worse the ice water is horrible. So I asked for a coke so I would have something decentvto wash my food down with. The waitress informed me with a snarky attitude that they do not serve soda, and if I wanted a soda I was welcome to walk across the street to get one. I get being health conscious I typically do not drink soda, but when everything else tastes bad, what do you do? Then I noticed the menu was tiny. Very little variety. We ordered shrimp and vegetable spring rolls. They looked good at first glance. However they had hardly any shrimp, and the vegetables tasted old. I think it was the carrots, something did not taste fresh and that's all you could taste. Next up was the pork tacos. I personally thought the meat was over seasoned and vinegery. The third course the drunken noodles were actually pretty good, but really spicy. Then when it was time to leave, and even though we were the only customers, the waitress would not bring us our check. We had to walk up front to pay. Oh did I mention the waitress and the cook were having a loud personal conversation the whole time we were there. We will not be going back. Worst restaurant experience I have...
Read moreThis review starts a year ago. I went to see the band Phish in Syracuse NY and that night stayed a the Red Roof Inn in Weedsport NY. As I was packing the car I struck a conversation with the man packing the car next to me who also went to see Phish at first th conversations was about how nice the Red Roof inn is. We then started talking about music and then about life and a job I was looking at in Erie ( I should have been offered it). We introduce ourselves to each other and my new friend Mike told me about a restaurant he owns in Erie PA right next door to The Warner Theater called "Like My Thai.".
Fast forward a year later I am driving to Cleveland to see the Artist Hunter Root and as I was passing Erie PA I say to myself it is lunch time and I think I will go slightly out of my way and check it out. I arrive at the restaurant and first thing I notice is the Grateful Dead is being played so right away 5/5 for atmosphere and then I spot Mike cooking behind counter. As soon as he see me he gets a big smile and was like WOW, The place is great it is like walking into a bar where everyone knows everyone, people yelling a each other in a kidding manner and nobody really holds back. We talked a lot about music while Mike made me some Red Curry Chicken and his helper made me a great Fresh Veggie spring rap.
The Food was amazing I wish I had a place like that by my house in Amherst NY. If you are going to Erie PA or driving by Stop by and say hey to Mike. Tell him what you like and I am sure he will be all over it. Looking forward to a new friendship and...
Read moreI always prefer it here...but they seems to be getting more arrogant these days. Wait time is always high in this place. We were five people, trying to have a lunch together but 2 of us don't drive. So we decided that one will go to the restaurant and order for all five and other two will go and pick up each non drving friend. We decided to do it this way as we have limited time for our lunch. They refused to start cooking our order saying we all five people need to be physically sitting on the table. We were three after 7 minutes and waiting for other two and they still were insisting that they will only start cooking once all 5 people are physically sitting in the table there...so we decided to walk out thinking we might have to wait another hour just to get our food. They also said it will be unfair for other people sitting there....but hey we have someone present in there to place the order.....Dont understand this crazy rule of theirs.
But I wonder if we were party of 10 people and 8 were present there and if we were waiting for another 2, will they just take the order for all and start cooking or will stand in their attitude by saying, All 10 people need to be physically sitting there to start cooking their orders............ I did not like that they did not understand our problem of less window lunch time. Funny though all needs to be present or else I am not cooking...
