Hurricaine Harbor is awful now. Weve been coming here every year for past 10 years. My original review was too many words for google. Save ur money. Weve been going here since 1990s before they added the waterpark. The waterpark has fallen into disrepair. Theyre pretending to make it more safe by making guests more uncomfortable. This waterpark is no longer comparable to all the other waterparks ive been to. Go to Raging Rivers in Grafton IL instead. Youll have a lot more fun. Or even Knights Action Park In Springfield IL if u live northeast of STL... They even close HH if its blue sky, no clouds, BUT there is rain 10 miles away & that small storm is not headed in direction of 6 flags (via weather app on phone). We went Sunday 8-17-25. In the doppler radar pics ive attached, the wind was moving storm in the pic from left to right, time is at bottom of pic. This has happened to us twice this summer where they shut down park over a storm not big enough to shut down busch stadium. Weve went to waterparks elswhere in america and done waterslides while it rained! 3 of the 5 slides are always closed, and the others leak a ton of water, which you would think would cost them a small fortune since it leaks into hottub sized puddles in the grass and isnt recirculated back into fulter system... Wave river and lazy river have been ruined compared to 2025. They should just make people sign a damn waver that they cant sue if theyre struck by lightning on a blue sky day, even if the park has told people there might be lightning or if they drown despite the presence of lifeguards. We sign our lives away everywhere in America all the time, so why should 6 Drags be any different?
There is a now a line to get into wave pool & a line to get into lazy river. You cannot float more than 1 time around lazy river unless u have a $10 rented tube. The wave pool has been fenced off so u can only enter a small area (as ur kids feet burn on the unshaded concrete). This is so they can make sure little kids have life jackets on. Tubes are not allowed in wave pool anymore (to be fair ive heard this is becoming common everywhere) and ur not allowed to go in the 6 to 7 foot deep part anymore (there are still old lifeguard chairs bolted to the ground that overlook this area). So now were all REALLY close together on a day when park is not busy. Kids are allowed to put heads underwater in 5 foot deep water of wave pool, but not allowed to put head underwater in the splash house (less than 2 feet of water) w/ parents soaking their shins 5 feet away. I told the lifeguard my 4th grader is having an underwater breathing contest, and if he hasnt yet drowned in our bathtub, then he wont drown here... she told me if i dont want her keeping my kid safe, then we can be removed for not following rules! Im a 42 year old parent of 2. The guard was probably barely 20. We moved the underwater breathing contest over to the much deeper & more crowded wave pool- becuz, u know,...

This is one the strangest water parks I’ve been to and I say that as someone who lifeguarded at a park for 5 summers.
They have blue tubes that are free but there aren’t enough for everyone (even on a mildly busy day) so you can pay for one or spend a fair amount of time waiting for one to free up—but people using them on the slides know what they have and ride again and again, so you can spend 10-15 min just waiting on a tube and then you spend another 15-30 min in line.
The larger slides didn’t have long lines but the pace was glacial. With just 30 people in front of us on Big Kahuna it took 20 min to go down a 30 second slide.
The slides (not including the kids area mini-slides) have pretty steep height requirements. Almost every one is 48” min requirement and of the two slides with lower requirements, one was closed, so slide time with littles is limited. The lazy river was also closed for…reasons unknown. Things just close at Six Flags with no warning sometimes.
Their safety rules are all over the place. You’ll get whistled at for standing on a geyser jet in the kids area (no clue why) and insist on you holding specific handles on slides, but they allow tubes in the wave pool?? (This is a huge safety concern. Most parks stopped doing that a decade ago because they obscure lifeguard vision and can push weaker swimmers under water. Leading cause of drowning at parks).
The best seats around the wave pool are all reserved for premium season pass holders (not regular, not gold—only Diamond, very top level) and it was completely empty while the rest of the seating was packed. The cabanas are over $100 a day (😂)
It’s overall an okay park if you’re doing an add on with a six flags annual pass but it’s sort of got that “carnival” pricing feel to it— a cost to get in the door and then they charge for everything else, too. On the plus side it was clean and attendants/lifeguards were helpful...
Read moreSure, here's a draft for a negative review about Hurricane Harbor at Six Flags St. Louis:
I am extremely disappointed with my recent visit to Hurricane Harbor at Six Flags St. Louis. I purchased the Platinum Season Passes, which explicitly stated that we would receive several exclusive benefits, including early entry to the park and reserved seating areas. However, none of these promises were honored during our visit.
Upon arrival, we were told that early entry was not available and that the reserved seating areas were first-come, first-served, despite what the pass details had promised. The staff were unhelpful and dismissive, stating that these perks were "subject to availability" without offering any further explanation or compensation.
The whole experience felt like a bait-and-switch tactic, where we paid a premium for benefits that were never delivered. I feel cheated and incredibly dissatisfied with how Six Flags handled this situation. I expect much better customer service and transparency from such a well-known amusement park.
If you're considering purchasing a Platinum Season Pass for the added benefits, be warned that Hurricane Harbor at Six Flags St. Louis might not honor their commitments. This experience has certainly made me think twice about returning to this park in the future.
I hope this meets your needs. Let me know if you would like any...
