I ordered a keyboard from a really nice young man who took my order gave me my receipts and an arrival date . I'd been told that Staples was run by a bunch of incompetents but liked my ordering experience until the arrival date came . When my arrival date came I called and asked for my order and was asked by this guy what I'd ordered and that UPS had not come in yet etc .. Ok I was fine with that . I was also told that 5 Pm was the last shipping time so I gave my phone number to the clerk who said he would contact me one way or the other as to the status of my order . This is where it gets interesting.. The guy doesn't call back l. So I miss out on any information as to the whereabouts of my keyboard after three trips into town at this time The reason I needed this keyboard is I have mild cataracts and I need the back light to see things properly . So a day passes and I get a hold of this guy who asks me for my name order number and what I ordered,. Here's where things went upside down .. Staples sells computers right . they have this irritating data base called Staples Rewards with your name address phone number blood type and your family tree back at least eight generations but they can't use any of that to find your order. Now it really gets interesting because the clerk says if I don't have the order number on my receipt he can't help me . So I give this guy my order number slowly three times over the phone and he still can't get it right . Next I ask for the manager and try to explain myself but she doesn't want to hear any thing about the first idiot I was talking about ; all she's interested in is this stupid order number .So I give her the order number three times and slowly and clearly and concisely and she still can't copy it down right . Then she wants me to hang on to the phone for about ten or fifteen minutes so she can look for it . After grumbling about further waiting The manager finally agrees to call me back and when she does she says she found the order and that it had arrived when it was supposed to but she mumbled some excuse about why it wasn't found .Finally I drive into town for a fourth time and then I find a line a line a the kiosk where I was supposed to get my keyboard and no one there to manage order pickups . I finally flag one guy down and who was it ? -the same moron I talked to and asked for the manager earlier that day . Now this guy wants to see my receipt and I'd. So what's going on here Am I part of a plot to further foul up their arcane ordering process by showing up and telepathically knowing what I was going to pick up before I got there . I've been trying to get this keyboard for ten days now . All I can say is that it's amazing that people like this have to turn in a resume to get a job there and management still hires idiots . The sad thing is I found out I could get a better keyboard by the same manufacturer at Walmart for half the price with less turnaround time and less hassle . I've never had a problem with...
Read moreI'm a local and I have to say that, besides the Service, this Staples store is just like any other Staples out there. This store is Clean and is easy to Navigate. What stands out for this store is its pitiful customer service.
The employees don't even know or want to help with the customers. I hear the employees say "It should be around this section" a lot instead of helping the customer find the product. Then there's the "just a moment" and a whole lot of time passes by before a customer can get their service. Occasionally there is the "I don't care" phrase which is definitely not a good phrase to be hearing in most customer servicing.
The largest problem I have with this store is that the easytech employees and the easytech manager of the store have been, and is still, consistently incompetent. The manager is very slow at doing anything, often just sitting there gazing around the store. The easytech employees are often college students who've just taken basic computer classes. Most of the employees lack any knowledge outside of basic information placed on the card next to the product. The employees tend to be replaced every couple of months meaning that the level of experience is always inconstantly low and with no experienced employee around, the rate at which their service improves is very slow.
Overall this store is below average. If a customer knows what they are getting or what they want then this store is as good as they come. However, if the customer does not know what they want then they will have a very hard time with the slow, incompetent, and unprofessional serviced. In the end, this store does what it does well enough to not sink into a...
Read moreIf you want to get some copies quickly DON'T go to Staples. The last time I was there I was told that they "are not allowed" to make copies for you, you must use the self-serve. And that's not fast. You have to get your card authorized first then go through questions like entering your rewards card, etc. You are essentially the cashier. The directions are not clear. It is indeed very frustrating. The price is $.11per page for b&w copies AND apparently they also charge you to "use" the copier on top of the per page price. After going through the frustrating process, as I was leaving the store Brook McLean a very immature girl followed me out of the store and asked "Did you pay for your copies?" Clearly she was intending to insult me since you can't make the copies unless you pay at the machine. When I pointed this out to her, she smiled and said "Okay". Brook is one or those people who smiles while she is insulting you thinking that will cover her when you complain. She's a phony! Whatever you do don't go to Staples. Go to Scrappers Edge or Central Office. They are always pleasant and make your copies for you at a much cheaper price, and they don't have a hidden charge to "use the copiers." I agree with the other posts the employees essentially walk around doing nothing. When I was there there was one other customer and the employees Brook McLean for example just standing around doing nothing. So of course Brook had the time to follow me out of the store and insult me. Brook is not an asset for Staples, clearly she has her own agenda; insulting...
