Greenwood Beach — Attraction in Evanston

THIRD YEAR IN A ROW THIS BEACH HAS BEEN CLOSED DURING THE SUMMER. The City of Evanston cites being "under staffed" but it's painfully obvious when 5 lifeguards are sitting on their phone at Clark Street Beach (not on duty) and two more lifeguards with 25+ kids in tow from the COE Park District Camps tell patrons to leave the beach at 10am because it's "closed" that the city is clearing using it for COE programming. This is unacceptable and absurd. Even if the beach needs to be used during the week for youth camps, OPEN THE BEACH ON THE WEEKEND to all AND MORNINGS during the week to NON-SWIMMERS and staff it with ONE lifeguard. The city should be ashamed of themselves and their lack of integrity and...
