A huge store that lacks the amenities or local feel of the old store. The parking lot is poorly designed mess. The old store had a lunch counter and underground parking so you could stay out of the weather and take a break while shopping. (Not everyone wants their groceries picked out by strangers and delivered) The entrance is a vert long walk and confusing, like the parking lot. All those specialty counters to navigate when I want a few bagels and a gallon of milk. I tried to find them and had to walk the entire store to get a bag of bagels ( stale -the kind the old store would put as marked down - but these were not - just full price and the only ones, since the case was empty)
If I want to pay Whole Foods prices for hot food, I'd go there. And not feel like I had to run a marathon just to check out.
We are now shopping at ALDI and Rochelle Park, since we have to drive further and be outside in the weather. They have better prices even with less frills. The old store helped keep this neighborhood and our neighbors able to buy local. I hope the new owner of that property refurbishes it and makes it possible to walk to walk to a grocery instead of hike inside one. And helps the small local businesses that...
Read moreParking lot is not flat! So expect carts to be rolling everywhere while people are packing their cars. No variety and items are constantly out of stock just like the old location. Noticed that my apples and grapes kept having this chemical taste to them the last few time I bought them there. Last week when shopping, someone from maintenance with a blue shirt on, not a shoprite employee probably 3rd party, was spraying the caseds with chicken in them directly with cleaning products. She should of sprayed her cloth then wiped the cases down, not spray the cleaning agents right on the case full of chicken. I have to wonder if that's the reason my fruits have a chemical taste to them no matter how much I wash them. Hopefully the new one coming in Elmwood Park...
Read moreI specifically ordered two gender reveal cupcakes, made it clear multiple times what they were for, and even had the order read back to me several times to confirm the instructions. Despite all of that, when it came time for the reveal, we cut into the cupcakes and there was absolutely nothing inside them.
This was supposed to be the highlight of a very special day, and instead, it completely ruined the moment for everyone. A gender reveal is something you don’t get to redo, and your bakery failed to deliver the most basic part of what was promised.
This was not just a small mistake—it ruined an event that meant a lot to me, my family, and my friends. I trusted ShopRite with something important and you let me down in the worst...
