Purchased best leather recliner last October at the Fairfax Virginia store. We were told it was built in Tennesee. Found out yesterday it was built in China! So much for truth in marketing! Now a problem with the leather wrinkling on the right arm rest! They apologized and said they would fix the problem since it is within the first year warranty, Let's hope they do so! I asked for a new one too! What happened to made in America? Six weeks later now and the manager Cara has not kept her commitments with follow-up regarding the above to date. She is very nice but seems stuck in a corporate system that is badly broken over customer service. They told me the new arm would be shipped September 5. I had to call them again about it on September 11 since no delivery of replacement arm. I was told it was on back order and to expect delivery now by October 20. This has been going on for over two months and will be 3 months if delivered by end of October. I caution any customers to consider your purchases from a store I would really like to like but remain skeptical of their customer service chain. Stay tuned friends.
Next chapter, Made in China stamped on bottom of chair. Company tells Visa made in America. Outright fabrication and the manager Cara admitted five of their lines are made in China including my chair but again Lazyboy says made in America so they are not truthful. Want to return to store for a full refund as I was assured the chair was made in Tennessee at purchase time. Thus, company should be reviewed by the Federal Consumer protection Division, at the Federal Trade Commission for false statements. Wells Fargo Visa dispute resolution does not represent the consumer as they seem to favor merchants over truthful customers. Perhaps Costco Citibank visa will protect our rights more.
Buyer beware!
Do not sign contracts with Lazyboy as they are ironclad and only protect the store not the consumer, except for a three day return provision. I will never purchase furniture from them in the future as they are deceptive and lied about place of manufacture—which for our chair was China and not in the USA! Poor quality for an expensive...
Read moreI have purchased from La-Z-Boy before and I felt I should go back again. This time I ordered a loveseat power recliner. The salesperson (Dorothy K) was a great help narrowing down the choices based on features that I wanted. She worked up pricing for a couple configurations. I wanted to choose the upholstery and I was able to borrow swatches to take home. I was about ready to order when I thought of adding one more option -- power headrests. When I arrived at the store, Dorothy had anticipated my thought and had already worked up the price. She subtracted applicable discounts on top of the sale price, so I was able to keep within my budget. She also carefully explained the terms of the sale including warranty and price guaranty. Overall, she was helpful and low key. She listened to my concerns and tried to suggest options. I felt she had me, the customer, in mind. Kudos to Dorothy! My order will go into a queue to be custom assembled. I expect it to take several months (4-8) to be delivered. Luckily I'm in no hurry. I wish La-Z-Boy offered all of its operational features on all its designs. The design I preferred did not come with the features I wanted (separate controls for the legs and the back), so I had only three designs to choose from. I am glad that La-Z-Boy has a showroom so I can try on a variety of models before I spend a lot of money. I saw cheaper prices for recliners from on-line sources, but it would be a gamble -- the descriptions are minimal and you don't know how it will feel or operate. And other sources don't offer a choice of custom upholstery. The only problem I've had with a previous La-Z-Boy power recliner is a little play in the mechanism after a few years. I was able to turn the chair over and tighten two nuts attaching the metal frame to the wooden body....
Read moreI have purchased a sectional couch from the store on Fairfax Blvd in Virginia and I can not believe the results of my purchase as they are. I bought this sectional hearing exceptional things about La-Z-Boy including their customer service and their quality of product and I am absolutely shocked and disgusted with my experience with the company. I bought this last year on July 4 and the person who conducted my sale was Gale. Within the second month after delivery, I began noticing several areas of the couch began to "deflate", I had purchased the care package after having it been "sold" to me by the salesperson saying that it will protect the couch in a variety of ways but had skillfully remembered to leave out the fact that it only covers couches with pillows that are directly attached to the sofa. When I called and expected some sympathy for my cause, I was very abruptly and rudely told that I should have read the fine print and that it is the customer's fault if they fail to read the paperwork. I was absolutely astonished by the lack of professionalism and common manners. I have tried numerous times after the fact to reach the salesperson for which they have only sent a replacement for pillows after numerous inquiries, calls, and emails, with no response. Even after the fact, I am still requesting the salesperson to send a tech to install the pillows as it is difficult in my condition. I had no idea when I was buying a couch from the renowned La-Z-Boy, that it would only end in such large amounts of frustration and inability to get sufficient service to deal with the issue. I have heard so much about the company yet, now, have nothing but a bleak outlook on La-Z-Boy and I only write this out of frustration of not...
