Fairfield Lane Library — Attraction in Fairfield

Do people know about this place?!?

Was at the park with my daughter earlier today and she was running around the grounds funding and posing with the statues (she LOVES them) and she sees one across the parking lot at the library, so we "go check it"...

We end up going in the library and it's AMAZING! I thought it was just Books and a Printer. But they had Blu-ray's & PS4 games and my daughter loved the kids section (even though she can't read yet) and lil play area.

Anyways, just wanted to let people know in case they thought libraries were all "story books" and "shushing" like I did.

Oh, and also the staff was so nice and helpful. They even wrote daughter's name on HER OWN library card. She's been showing it off all night.

We are just so happy with our new neighborhoods...

Fairfield's library is nice. Simple, but the staff have tried their best to make patrons feel at home. There is comfortable seating, and even a community puzzle. A good amount of activities are held weekly, and the community room is in use frequently. Lots of people rely on this space! For that reason, I am happy it exists.

Unfortunately, some librarians are friendlier than others. Some make a point to say hi and smile while you're checking out, others prefer to silently watch your every move with folded arms. That tends to make me a little uneasy. Everyone appreciates a friendly librarian! No one wants to feel as if you are being watched with suspicion or contempt.

All in all, I appreciate the library and the staff for the services they provide...

Great library with friendly service and lots of available resources. I mostly rent Blu-ray movies here, but the kids enjoy renting books and DVDs also.

I deducted one star because of the sign on the door forbidding concealed carry of handguns. Ohio is a state that allows law abiding gun owners (good guys) to carry concealed handguns.

Criminals (bad guys) aren't going to obey your silly sign. You, in fact, make your location LESS safe when you place ignorant signs up that will only be respected by law abiding gun owners.
