My husband and I were just driving through and we're looking for a place to eat. The outside of the place was decent and not too intimidating. So we stopped in. When we arrived it was quiet and only a couple of tables occupied in the half-diningroom that was open. Good thing we got there when we did because we seemed to just barely beat the after-soccer game rush that quickly filled every open seat right after we put in our orders up at the counter. You order and pay up front then you get a number and food is brought to you when it is ready. It's a nice system.
The people who work here are magical, kind and need raises immediately. If I was reviewing the wait-staff alone it would be a 5 star rating.
The food was ok. I ordered the Italian salad and loaded fries. It was just very average food. Fries needed something. They weren't very loaded. The salad was decent. I liked the smaller hunks of lettuce and the olives. The dressing was tasty but also very oily. My husband ordered a white sauce pasta dish that was also just ok and a bit underwhelming.
The place is cozy but the decor is outdated. I did like the Easter decorations that were up. Very nice and in good taste.
Overall a good experience with almost-good food. The staff...
Read moreGood steak sandwich, great dill pickles, BUT Every Time, we order LIGHT onions and EVERY-SINGLE-TIME, they slather the sandwich with absolute mounds of potent stinky onions.‼️😡 All we want is a tiny bit. So Everytime, the car reeks of onions. We check the order tag. It says LIGHT. But no, millions of onions that have to be taken off, and thrown out OUTSIDE in that trash can, they reek so bad. And then we have to scrub out hands. I do NOT want to buy an onion and par cook just a few strands of it at home. I just want a FEW pieces that they could easily just put on our sandwich. .It was so bad one time, our daughter and son-in -law were reeling and we had to throw all wrappers outside, all onions, and literally AIR out the car, and launder our clothes they were so strong, so over applied, and so many. LIGHT means frickin LIGHT. NOT let's see how many onions we can cram on this one sandwich. So now, after years and years, it is no longer possible to order ANY onions WHATSOEVER, because you people refuse to listen to us or believe our request. Not everyone likes those hot white stinking over-powerful onions!😳 Ridiculous that you can't ever get our order correct. ‼️So one more chance. There are other...
Read moreThe last time I ate inside this restaurant for a meal at lunch, I had a terrible experience with a rude and incompetent employee behind the counter, I think she was one of the managers. Have not eaten in the store since then, but I do occasionally order a carry out for a steak sandwich when I'm feeling low on my grease quotient for the month.
I've often thought about suggesting Richard's rename the steak sandwich for the Exxon Valdez, for the grease slick it always leaves on the package it comes in. Actually, the steak sandwich today was not nearly as greasy as some of the ones I have received in the past, and it was in fact, quite good.
Kudos to Richards for continuing to offer curbside pick up. That is often a factor in my decision to carry out there.
The real stand out event of the experience, though, was the service I received from the young gal who delivered my sandwich to me. I THINK this was Melissa, but the person who answered my call when I arrived, the kind young lady who brought the food out to me was totally committed to good customer service, and I so very much appreciate that. I hope she is there to handle my...
