A friend of mine was selling me his Google Pixel 6a, but before he did, it was brought into this store with a cracked screen that needed repaired. He was told that he could fix it, but would need to order the part. That was fine, no big deal.
After it was repaired, my friend picked it up, and checked that the screen worked. It did. However, once I got the phone a couple days later and went to set it up, I noticed that the under the display fingerprint sensor was not showing up. I went to the settings, and the option to set it up was gone. I tried everything I knew to do myself. I reset the phone, and even connected it to my computer to run Google's own Pixel calibration software. Nothing worked, cause there was nothing to calibrate. The phone simply didn't have the sensor. So now I had a faulty phone with a faulty repair that was now my problem.
Knowing that the fingerprint sensor module is attached to the screen, I knew this had to be something to do with the screen repair that was just performed, so I called them to explain what was going on in hopes we could find a resolution. I mean, you pay for a repair, you don't expect to get one thing repaired only to get it back with a main component not working.
The man I spoke to on the phone gave me a bunch of attitude. He told me that he was asked to repair the screen, if the screen worked then his job was done and he wasn't responsible for anything else. I told him that the module was attached to the screen and that the new screen he ordered, if it was an authentic part, would've had the sensor module attached. He kept claiming it wasn't his problem. He kept saying that he was responsible for the screen only and if the sensor didn't work, well then that wasn't his job to fix it.
After ten minutes of arguing, he finally told me that he could see if the old broken screen was in the trash still, dig it out, and get the sensor off of that and swap it on my phone. Yeah ok. That's what I want. I want you to dig a part out of the trash and put that on my phone.
The attitude was just unreal. Now I have a phone with a working screen, but another main component that doesn't work. Luckily, my friend is an honest guy, and he's since offered to give me my money back on the faulty device. But now he's out the cost of the repair, and has a device that's missing a key component.
So, if you decide to take your phone here, be sure to test everything that works before giving him your phone and make a log of it. Also make sure you're very specific about what you want fixed. Even make sure to tell him that if a part is attached to the screen he's replacing, that you want that too. Or better yet, find a more reputable repair shop that will stand by their work and warranty their service. This guy doesn't want to take any responsibility, so he lost us...
Read moreI went here to get my phone fixed thought the guy was professional until he "fixed" my screen. I tried to be nice about it at first and just asked him to replace it and he wouldn't charge me but 85.00 to fix it but he didn't fix it he replaced my screen with a secondhand screen not the right one for my phone. Yeah he's not as professional as I'd like him to be. I had my screen replaced and he took my original LED (light emitting diode) screen out of my phone and replaced it with a LCD (liquid clear display) screen that requires an additional backlight to project the light through the pixels when the original screen projected it's own light without additional backlight and it's burning through my screen pixels and basically frying my battery in return will eventually fry my hardware it's a really big problem and my phone never was that messed up beforehand. If you're smart you'll take it to ubreakifix they will send it to the manufacturer and they fix it professionally and send it back to the store and u pick it up and you don't have to worry about them putting second hand convenient laying around pieces that don't belong in your phone in the first place. Y'all I'm not kidding either. It's some bs you don't wanna deal with. If only y'all could see what he did to my phone. The damn screen wasn't put in properly I can see the light coming out from aroumd the sides where the screen isn't the same size as the phone and my home button floats around it don't stay put in one spot anymore. On top of that I have green white red and yellow lines going up and down my screen. Now I have to get up 85 more dollars to get it fixed by a real professional with the right parts to the phone because he refused to give...
Read moreGot my screen fixed here before Service was quick and professional. 100$ for new screen, only issue is can see what appears to be led bulbs through the screen. Took my phone back several weeks later after it had issues charging and he claimed 75$ to fix. Asked if any way could be cheaper, said no so I took to cpr phone repair in west Chester. They were extremely helpful and said it was just dirt and lint in the charger port and cleaned it out for free. Bought something in thier store because of thier honesty. Guess I should have cleaned it out myself but anyway it saved me 75 dollars and giving money to a greedy gypsy.
(This is a post edit in response to owners response)Unlike what you said in your deciptive response, the said phone was handed over and inspected, based on what I said and you examined that was the cost. I am not the "phone dr" I was assuming you knew what you were doing. It's not a matter of affording it's a matter of being ripped of by bad business practices, proven by the other business that under the same inspection fixed it for free when I was more than willing to pay for a service charge for thier honesty and help. I also "afforded" an otter box for my wife and I at the other named business.
And yes that is a great thing about this country and which is why I did take my business elsewhere. I wrote this review so other people could base thier own decision based on my review and the reviews of other customers satisfied or not and hopefully take thier business elsewhere. Your dishonest response solidified my need to warn other...
