Multnomah County Libraries are the best I have ever used. I can find everything that I want and more. Requesting and transferring books to other locations is easy, staff is mostly nice (Fairview for sure!), and I feel very lucky to hold a member card. Portland should be proud.

I Love this Fairview Branch Library out of a handful of MCL I reg check out books from: Its Airy, New (clean), the Librarians are friendly, Cute Kid section, and is often Calm or Quiet here. I actually drive here FARTHER from Vancouver, Wa. Its def a Smaller Neighborhood Library and doesnt have everything, but I have found some more Unique books here. Street Parking is free and its in a “Town-like” Village w/ other Businesses nearby.

I also want to Shoutout to Karissa for her Customer Service— just met her today, but I had a book I had returned to Central Library w/ a bunch of other Psychology books— and oddly that one tuned up “Lost” and MCL Charged me for a Lost Book I KNOW I Returned. She and a Colleague looked into my Acct — and they were able to Fix the Problem and Charge.

So Thank you Karissa and the Fairview...

This library claims to be an institution that can facilitate proctored exams for a fee of $25. Yet when I called to location, staff members were completely bewildered with my request and referred to their emails and the finally there own website.

The phone rep then puts me on hold. She then states that the staff responsible for this is on a vacation. She then states if I want more information to TRY calling back on Monday.

Ridiculous! This library is also very loud at most times as it’s very small and the staff in the back have very loud conversations. They also have “Hispanic children reading time” in the library where children are reading and singing very loudly, WITHOUT THE DOOR CLOSED!

If you want good customer service and silence in a library do...

Despite covid closing down our ability to visit inside the library, the librarians here went above and beyond by running over to the windows to show my young children books & letting them choose what they would like to take home. There wasn’t a time limit or an exhaustion working with their little choice making skills. They showed nothing but kindness, patience and excitement to engage them. Thank you Fairview library for an...
