So hopefully I can clear up some questions for people. My fiancé and I travel all over to different haunted attractions. We were excited to try the 'lights out' event at factory of terror. We were in fact underwhelmed. We bought early bird tickets which said we had to be there by 6:30. There was no firthur clarification. So we showed up around half past six utterly confused at where to go. A lone security guard told us to walk down hehe side of the factory. Nothing marked the entrance to the attraction. The only way we knew where to line up was because of a dj from 104.5 was stationed outside. (See pictures). So we waited. 630 came down and went. We watched with hope as actor after actor came out of the building to use the restroom. Men came out and stared at us but didn't say anything. More actors came out to grab goodies from the dj's table. 650 came and went. We were the first in line. Now we are confused. We knew we would have to wait until opening time, 7pm, but not once did we recieved any direction. 7pm rolled around and the 50+ people behind us were getting restless. Finally at 7:07pm the door opens and the people inside look very annoyed. I ask them if we come in now and they just wave their hand. We then wait in line inside for another 15 minutes to show the nice lady at the ticket booth our pre-purchase tickets. After that we wait in another line to only watch people in the VIP line complain and get upset. They go in. It is now 7:43. They wave us up. Now remember, we were first in line and there 3 VIPs. We get paired up with an older couple from the VIP line (they were super nice). Apparently one of them was a reporter who wrote an article about the place and got in for free. The first floor had lights which was okay because some of the props and clown art were very cool. I did get spooked by a girl in the first room. The lights out was interesting but nothing really denoted the 'different' attractions on the 2nd floor. Honestly felt like there were only 3. Anyways the whole run-through took less than 15 minutes and we were barely moving so the other couple could keep up. The chainsaw guy was super disappointing; please get a real chainsaw.... Overall I got spooked once, some props were cool but the while thing seemed extremely...
Read moreI just posted this on TripAdvisor so just reposting my review here too. I (40) can’t say enough good things about the staff at Factory of Terror! This was our very first visit and my kids (age 8 and 10) first haunted house. My brother (43) joined us. All of us love Halloween on a broad scale of scares. We went the second day they opened due to the sale price, anticipated low crowds, and still daylight when entering and leaving. Also plan for nightmares just in case. From parking (extremely clear and guided by an attendant) to the amazing staff outside helping navigate and answer questions arrival was a breeze! I told both scares characters outside as well as the check in staff inside my oldest was scared but trying to be brave. They clearly explained the rules multiple times. No touching of cast or guest! If at any time you want to leave tell any employee even in costume and they will safely guide you out. But also absolutely no refunds (made clear also on the website too). We were well aware and fine with their clearly expressed terms.
The four of us after chatting and taking photos outside went in. The check in staff were great even explained again how they are just actors and how they were actors last year and this year helping out front. My oldest seemed okay though apprehensive. We went into the platform and heard the instructions again. We did not enter the factory scare rooms and he changed his mind and was shaking. They immediately helped us and brought us to the gift shop (also gave us the option to by pass it too). My brother and youngest went in.
We waited in the gift shop and the manager and shop attendants were so friendly and helpful to my oldest and two actors came over and even showed him their costumes!
My youngest and brother came out about 15 minutes later. They had a blast! My youngest can’t wait to do it again! Both were so chatting on the way home about the experience. We likely will go again in October!
The way everyone treated us both inside the house for the show and those of us who chickened out, was absolutely amazing! I highly...
Read moreI wasn’t going to say anything about this because I thought it was me being dramatic, but after speaking with lots of people about this, I am deciding to do so. I was here with some friends a few weeks ago, and I was really excited for the haunt. When we made our way in, we noticed there was a man in a clown outfit and clown makeup greeting people and doing creepy stuff when you made your way to the queue. When my friends and I got up to him, he immediately looked at me and got on all fours like a dog and started sniffing my shoes. I thought it was a bit weird, but also thought it was a funny/scary/weird factor of the haunted house. I did notice that it went on for a bit too long though, so I kinda backed away from him. The scare actor took this as a sign that he was doing his job well, and started messing with me more. But this is where it made me feel really uncomfortable, especially as a female. He got up, got mere inches away from me and was sticking his tongue out and making weird noises. At first it was funny haha creepy, but the more it went on, the more uncomfortable I got. I mean this man’s tongue was literally probably 2 inches from my face. It didn’t help at all that his breath REEKED of beer. After about 3-4 minutes of him following me around, I told him that I wanted him to stop. It wasn’t scaring me, it was just making me seriously uncomfortable. He would not put his tongue away. He then got his nose incredibly close to my shirt and started smelling me. I was telling him, in a serious voice, that I wanted him to stop and that I am uncomfortable. One of my male friends even tried to get him away from me but he just wouldn’t. I wasn’t laughing, I wasn’t feeding into it, I was straight faced telling him to please STOP. After literally about 5-6 minutes of this, he finally decided to walk away. He didn’t stay with any other guests anywhere near as long as he did me, which also made me feel really weird. I definitely will not be going back here, and will be letting people know to...
