Last week i had a 2 hr massage session scheduled (that ive made 2 weeks prior to) & it was cancelled on the day of (due to a 'miscommunication' by one of the girls who works @ the front desk). Due to work related issues, I called to see if I can reschedule My appmt to a different day that week. I was told b/c my appmt was a 2 hr session, & had not given a 24hr notice, i'll be charged for 1 session & next availability they've had for a 2 hr session is in Dec. I said never mind- i really need this massage, & dont want to cancel b/c i cant wait till Dec but i'll call you right back... talked to my work, called back w/in 20-30 mins- no one answered, i left a vmail just to reiterate what was already stated ealier & that i'll be there for my afternoon appmt. I got a call back/vmail 2 hrs later only to find out that my appmt was canceled 5 minutes after I initially had spoken to someone & given to a new customer b/c the girl had MISUNDERSTOOD what I've said/wanted. I called back again, spoke to someone who said they couldnt help me & they didnt know who canceled my appmt (which was a lie, she kept sticking up for the person who canceled my appmt but she just didnt want to give the name of the coworker). I asked if I could speak to a manager. The girl on the phone said 'manager was busy @ the moment' but will call back as soon as they can. She took my name & # down... its been more than a week & ive yet to hear back from a manager or get a courtesy call nor get an apology or get any type of credit back... or even a reschedule. I had just found the one masseuse, whom i've really liked, but now Im not even sure If i want to associate myself w/ this facility. When they want to set you up to buy the product they can 'talk to you, & help you' for 2 hours.... yet when things go wrong, especially due to a mistake that they've made- they have no...
Read moreI recently got the membership, amd have been trying out different massage therapists, with mixed results. The last time I went was the worst. I signed up online for Benjamin, but the text I got after said my appointment had been with Justin. So not sure who it was, but it was the worst massage I've ever had. I told him the same thing I tell every massage therapist: Neck, shoulders, upper back. He objected, saying he didnt feel comfortable rubbing one spot the whole time. I was like, Bro, I gave you three? I said he could do my arms too if he wanted, so he spent the majority of the time on my arms, which wasn't what I needed or wanted. He was inconsistent with speed an pressure and sloppy in his technique, dripping the lotion on me, throwing the towel on me (instead of gently placing it), and at times pressing into bone, which caused pain. It seemed like he found knots, but when he tried to focus on them he completely missed them somehow. I have had no formal massage training and could have done better than this guy. I really needed my neck worked on bc I pulled a muscle there and he barely touched my neck and it still hurts.
I told the front desk about this, but the manager was on the phone and couldn't come talk to me. The gal said she would call to follow up, maybe give me a free enhancement for next time, but nothing so far.
I really do benefit from massages and this location is convenient, but after four tries, I still havent found someone I really like (Artem has been the best so far). I may try one or two more times, but if I don't have an experience I really like, I'll be canceling...
Read moreI was traveling from out of town for a two day mini-family vacation. Earlier that morning I experienced a mild musculoskeletal pain attack but was hoping it would subside by the time I arrived in the Langhorne area. Traveling from Albany, NY proved to be too much for me though. The pain persisted and my movements were getting more and more restricted. I found Hand & Stone through a google search and called immediately. I was still about an hour to an hour and a half outside of town but they were extremely helpful and accommodating. I received an appointment at the time of my approximate arrival and was connected with the Massage Therapy Manager to better evaluate my current condition and match me with the appropriate therapist. When I arrived, the staff was (again) extremely welcoming and helpful. My massage therapist, Tracey, has a background in PT and simply put....she was amazing. She worked with me gently and calmly but with enough pressure to relieve the tension necessary to allow me to have increased movement and reduced pain. Visiting Hand & Stone was the best thing I could've done. By the time I left, I was glowing. I felt like myself again. This experience allowed me to enjoy two days of fun & rides at Sesame Place with my family. Memories I will cherish forever and wouldn't have had otherwise. I only wish there was a Hand & Stone near me - I would definitely join. The membership rates are great and if the staff at all Hand & Stones are anything like those at the Langhorne site then Albany NY would be lucky...
