I come to Office Max often because up until now I’ve had great experiences. On Tuesday (9/19), I came in to have pictures printed out for my 81-year-old mother who has never been to an island and wanted to capture our beautiful family portrait from Cabo. I was greeted by John (English guy). I’ve dealt with John in the past for events for the Pennsbury boys basketball team and services have for the most part gone smoothly.
On this particular day, Johngreets me with a friendly “Hi, how can I help you”. From there it went downhill. I’m explaining to him what I want, and he says “well technically I’m supposed to clock out at 5 pm. I’m thinking…wait what? You just greeted me with a smile and now you want to come with this negative energy to make me feel bad for not coming before you “clock out”. Really?
Moving forward, I requested the photo be printed landscape vs portrait. John goes on to say, “that can’t happen because of the size of the frame that you bought is rectangular your photo is square.” He goes on to say under his breath, “if you want it landscape you’ll need to go back and retake the picture”. Now, I feel like I’m being disrespected and talked down to. In my mind this conversation could have gone far left. However, I let his second sarcastic remark go. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
Once the pictures are printed portrait, which I excepted. I asked him if he could crop the pictures. At this point, John tells me “I said it’s not gonna work.” “I’ve been doing this for over 30 years I know what I’m doing.” By this time, I’ve had enough of John and his unprofessionalism towards me as a customer. Again, I could have given John the negative energy he gave me. I kept the high road, paid for the service that I did not deserve and moved on.
Today (9/20), I go to your competitor (Staples) in New Jersey. The sales guy couldn’t be more supportive and patient in meeting my needs. Although one of my two pictures could not be landscape one of them was successfully printed landscape and I couldn’t be happier. NOTE: (your words and delivery matter) In the future, I will think twice about visiting Office Max and drive over the bridge to New Jersey and give my business where it’s...
Read moreThis is quite possibly the most incompetent company. I purchased a laptop, and then saw it dropped in price. I asked for a price adjustment, and they said to buy another as they couldn't process it. I received two laptops, and attempted to make the return for the first order, and its been 6 days where they can't produce a label to ship it back. As a result, I decided to return both laptops, as I cannot spend my money on a company with such low quality customer service. Its now 12/28, two supervisors later, 1 agent chat later , 6 agents later and still no labels for either. They keep "escalating" and sending to the resolution team, and nothing gets done. I live in NY, unfortunately, otherwise I would have dropped this myself. I will NEVER do business with these people again. I ended up buying a more expensive product at Bestbuy because this would't ever happen with them. FYI, I am currently on hold now for an hour and still no resolution. This is the 5th time I had to do this. They truly ruined my...
