Schmitz-Maki arena is a beautiful facility that brings me nostalgia every time I enter it. It was but a year ago that the Great 8 made his varsity hockey debut at this very rink, and it was a memorable experience for most. Being one of the first sophomores to get the call up it was very shocking when coach stuck his head in the doorway and said, “McCall, you’re going”.
