Decided to road trip to a new place. Overall the restaurant is very clean. Came for lunch and was not that busy. Server checked with me many times as I was looking over the large menu with many tempting items and decided on the lunch special chipotle burrito. It was stuffed with chicken. Rice and beans on the side with the pico. Adding the pico to the burrito gave it an amazing flavor. The chips and salsa were out right away and offered refills. The experience was very good and glad I made it here.

Good food. Great price! First time there. Nice atmosphere. Ate on the patio, road noise was minimal as they are right on the main drag. Down side right next to the train tracks. The portions were generous. I had seafood enchiladas soooo good. Hubby had beef chimichanga, needed a bit more deep frying as the tortilla was quite soft, plus it was on a layer of cheese sauce, making it even less crunchy. Service was prompt and friendly.

The guacamole was delicious. Other than that- dont waste your tastebuds..... Everything else was horrible. We ordered the chicken quesadilla and the steak quesadilla. Gross!! The fried icecream- gross!! There were 2 large bags of dog food in the restaurant near the kitchen. Definitely made us second guess our choice of dining even before the meal came. Yuck on all accounts I do not recommend this place at all.

Farmington has very few restaurants, but the ones it has are very, very good. El Charro is no exception. You walk in and are greeted like family, with a very casual atmosphere to make you feel instantly at home. At first glance the food looks like the usual Mexican fare, but they tweak their recipes slightly to bring you a unique experience. My son's favorite is the Burrito Chipotle, which he orders every time, and he doesn't even like spicy food normally. It's just done that well here. All of their dishes are like that, from the chimi's to the street tacos. And if you ask for extra cheese on the nachos, you actually get so much that it's almost too much. And that rarely happens anywhere. Just like Weng's and Farmington Steak House, this is another hidden gem in small town that you will treasure over...

We went to El Charro for lunch today on the recommendation of our neighbor-friends. What a wonderful treat it was. Be sure to go hungry. El Charro is owned-operated by a local family and really does Mexican food right! Our server, Carlos/Charlie, was terrific and had great recommendations for us. We had the Molcajete Guadalajara which was plenty for 2-3 people to share (and take home extras) and there are two other variants of the Guadalajara for us to try in the near future. The bar has a decent variety of tap/bottle beers, wine and, of course, margaritas. Plus, they have a pleasant-looking patio for summer use (alas, too cold and windy today to be eating outside). This place is definitely worth trying out if you like authentic, family-style Mexican fare. We'll definitely be going...

You Want Salt? Eat here! I know what to expect (Minnesota Mexican) for 34 plus years, and this is the worst ever. Every single item was over-salted to the point of saturation. The chips, ground beef in the taco, chicken in the enchilada was the worst, shredded beef in the burrito. On top of it all, we were the only table at 2:30 p.m. on a Friday, and the waitress made us feel like we were inconveniencing her life. Sad. ...(we still tipped Over 20 percent!). Changed servers halfway through, service spotty at best. Never mind the dead flies on the window sill, and live flies around our table the entire time. (Landing only son's head, my hat, and my wife's food throughout) Very disappointed! Sooo salty, uggggh.

Will NEVER eat at El Charro...
