This place used to be good, I cannot say that it is any longer. This is the only place that I have been to that up charges like 3% for using a debit or credit card, other than the DMV. The food is so so and the prices have gone through the roof and they still charge you for using a card. Will not be going back after our last visit. To Kennys reply back to myself, other businesses figure the cost of the credit company into the price they put on their goods/services/food to all customers.
Look at this statement about charging customers extra because they are paying by credit or debit cards and the impact that it may have on your business.
There’s no clear cut answer to the question, but business owners must ask themselves: Will adding a credit card surcharge or convenience fee turn away customers?
For many customers, the addition of a fee may create a negative experience and prevent them from coming back to that business. It may also give the perception the business owners value their bottom line more than their customers, which can lead to additional customer churn! Instead of adding a fee for certain types of transactions, a better practice would be to build in the cost of credit card processing by raising your prices across the board.
As mentioned above, another approach could be to offer a discount for customers who want to pay in cash. That way, you’ve created an incentive for one method, instead of a punishment for paying with credit card. Some merchants also set minimum credit card purchase amount to avoid high fees for low price transactions. In the end, it all comes down to perception and the type of experience you want to provide to your customers.
A negative payment experience can have long-term effects on customer retention, while a positive payment experience can boost customer satisfaction and impact the growth of your business forever.
Thus I will not be back to your establishment because the food not being that good and the debit card charge left a really bad Longbranch taste in our...
Read moreMy family visited recently, hopeful that it would be a nice break and we'd get to experience Farmington and enjoy some great food. It was not a pleasant experience and we will not be returning. First off, our server forgot to submit our order for about a half hour. I get that people make mistakes. I was okay, a little annoyed because my young daughter was there and ended up eating mostly snacks instead. Next they forgot my side. Fine, I can wait. Usually I'll let a couple things slide before I judge a place, but the mess continued. Then my husband isn't even halfway through his beer and notices a fruit fly in it and explains to our server, asking for another beer. She proceeded to charge us for the beer he barely drank (2 total) plus the upcharge for credit card. Who charges a customer who doesn't want to drink a beer with fruit flies in it?! Not worth the flies flying around for average food. Rather than arguing about the bill, we just paid the upcharge and left to get out of there. The other patrons were nice, but I heard a lot of them grumbling about...
Read moreYour right I need to explain myself. The service and food were great. But my wife noticed that some of your other patron were looking at us very unwelcomely. I had to stop and think about this for a while and wonder why. They don't like tall people, they don't like fat people, they don't like people with kids, or maybe they don't like people who adopt kids that are black. That shouldn't matter your staff did a great job and I look at that more than the other people that are dining. But I want my family to enjoy ourselves also and not feel like we can't...
