I had brought up an issue to the assistant manager about their website not being transparent enough about the $5 per trainer charge and how I should have been aware of that since I booked a birthday party of 12-16 kids. She said, “It says on the website nothing else would be included in the package.” Okay but how are we supposed to know what extra charges there may be if it’s not mentioned? Anyways, I ended up buying a bunch of trainers and the assistant manager never apologized and had the nerves to say, “Well most people who have parties just have the parents of their kid pay the $5.” Regardless, it would have been nice to know so I could have notified the parents. Not everyone has an extra $5 PER KID and it was insensitive to even bring other parties and how they handle the situation because obviously I have a problem with the lack of awareness of this extra charge and she had a condescending, unapologetic tone and clearly doesn’t have any customer service skills. The skates are so loose that you have no choice but to buy the trainer, the toddlers were so scared of how slippery the skates were that they didn’t even want to skate, big and little kids all needed trainers and some of them still kept falling with them. Idk the reason they don’t tighten the skates anymore but seems unsafe and a way for them to make extra money of this problem. And as mentioned in another review, rooms are super small. Won’t book here again due to the attitude and unpleasant experience with the assistant manager and I recommend if booking a party to call and ask what other things outside of the party package you may have to pay for since their policy is...
Read moreI like going there because it's nostalgic and skating is great exercise. What I don't like is the inconsistencies in service. There is one woman who cashiers and she is always cool calm friendly and knowledgeable. She is short, has dark hair that is usually parted down the middle and in a ponytail, and wears nice glasses and dark eyeliner. This time, there was a different girl. Much younger. This was for the last session on 4/18/23. She told me I could not order pizza because there were three parties, but I could order 4 slices max at $3 each when a whole pizza is only $16 for 8 slices or so. Anywho, the night pressed on, and we start to see folks waltzing away with whole pizzas because we are sitting directly in front of the snack bar. The younger girl says they were selling them for a short while, but not anymore. I could have died. She saw us there and knew we wanted a pizza. I was celebrating my partners birthday, and our whole family was there. 5 adults and 3 kids. She misinformed me. She was supposed to say I couldn't order pizza at that time, but I could come back. She was not sympathetic at all, not rude but didn't seem to care and was unapologetic. The manager on duty asked how she could make it right. I don't agree with that course of action because it puts the work on the patron to solve the issue. I would have liked her to offer a solution, but she seemed ready to be done with the conversation and also came across as lacking empathy. Not rude, just indifferent, and provided generic apologies. I could tell she was ready for her shift to end. I didn't feel...
Read moreMy husband and I are learning how to skate so we went to Pattinson’s West last night. We stuck by the walls as it was a safer place for us to learn but we were bullied by some patrons and told us to stay in the middle where slow skaters are. These people did not leave us alone and tried to intimidate us as we practiced by skating circles around us and trying to ram us. Eventually the DJ made us go to the middle. Fine - he works there, so we did. But it’s not a good place to practice as everyone is zooming by us and there’s nothing to help us catch our fall. And they won’t let you rent trainers because they were for kids (even though the skate place in Tacoma let us use them and they’re the exact same ones).
As we tried to exit the skate floor to get to the benches for a breath, an “experienced” skater bumped into my husband and he fell and hurt his wrist and elbow. The next day we found out he has a fracture.
Also they don’t clean their shoes after you rent them barf. Not very hygienic.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that this place is NOT BEGINNERS FRIENDLY. They don’t support you in any way. If you’re slow and learning this isn’t the place for you. No staff came by to see if my husband was ok. If you’re learning to skate DO NOT GO TO PATTISONS WEST. Go to the one in Tacoma (I think they were called Rollin 253 but they recently changed their name). The only staff member who asked if he was doing ok was the girl in the concession stand after we...
