Lumpia World (October 9, 2022)
Lumpia World I believe is a Filipino inspired eatery. I believe the place used to offer sit down dining, but it now only offers take-out service as a result of the Covid impact. The ordering area is small - itâs roughly 4 feet across the door entrance, and stretches 12 feet to the right of the entrance. The right side ends with a table with a very high-end sophisticated ordering computer displaying pictures and offering options with all the various foods. You are unable to see behind the ârear wallâ into the rear of the eatery. The entrance to the eatery has signs encouraging patrons to order from the website, app, etc. to avoid crowding the limited size ordering area. After you order indoors, you are expected to wait outdoors, or in your parked car to await the delivery. It is unclear if the place accepts cash payment for the food anymore.
The items on the menu have also been reduced greatly. It now only offers a variety of lumpias (Best description is mini egg rolls!), island mac salad (with or without Spam), vegetarian Pancit (Thin flexible fried rice noodles), and white rice. The eatery offers lunch specials, combos, and both fried or frozen lumpias. Pricing is slightly higher than your typical fast food small combo purchase.
Daughter and I ended up ordering a variety of foods to try out as this is our first time here. Our meals consisted of the Island mac salad topped with Spam, vegetarian Pancit and a variety of savory lumpias with meat inside. There is also a dessert lumpia as well as a vegetarian lumpia that we passed up this time. Accompanying the lumpias are 2 different dipping sauces - a sweet chili sauce, and a vinegar garlic sauce.
Assessment: The lumpias were well fried, and had a terrific crunch when you bite into it. The issue is that I am unable to distinguish the different tastes among the different lumpia varieties taste-wise as they all look the same from the outside. Accompanying sauces were nothing special though we rate the sweet chili sauce taste much better than the uninspiring vinegar garlic. The Spam island mac salad was decent, but the vegetarian Pancit was a total disappointment (Tasteless and bland. Adding the sweet chili sauce to it helped very minimally.) The eatery does offer a $6 island mac salad with Spam Bowl that I will consider ordering in the future I rate it a decent value. The lumpias are good, but I am unsure if it is worth the $1.75 per pricing. Good thing is that there is bulk pricing. I am unsure if the lumpias reheat well however.
Based on these factors, the rating for this place is 2.5-3 stars out of 5. I am confident the rating will improve when the previous menu offers are re-introduced in the...
Read moreThis place is a gem for Filipino food! I usually get the chicken adobo and it's SO good. The meat falls off the bone and you get a nice portion for UNDER $10 WITH rice. Rice isn't extra. They have various options for they lumpia as well! I can't have too much red meat so I usually get the ginger garlic and it's absolutely delicious. They're pretty nice with the sauce as well. if you really like it they have it bottled! The ONLY complaint I have is I wish I could get a little more sauce with the adobo but the rice just absorbs like all of it but that's just a preference really. You have to order online but check out is simple and easy! If you love Filipino food I...
Read moreService was really fast compared to most places weâve been in Washington. Ordered the pork lumpia, chicken lemongrass lumpia, and the sweet rice dessert lumpia. The chicken lumpia and dessert lumpia was our faves but the lumpia was great overall. I was not a fan of the katsu chicken but that doesnât mean that it wasnât made correctly. It was TOO crispy for my liking and cut my mouth. Definitely would come back and order another entree option and of course try different lumpia flavors. I really appreciate the amount and varieties of sauces they gave us as well for just two people. I feel like most people cheat you on sauces but they are...
