Del Taco — Restaurant in Federal Way

I love Del Taco! I live an hour and a half away and was lucky enough to be down in the area recently so we had to stop by.

They used to be epically slow in the drive though several years ago when I lived down in the area. That improved. We got our food in about 10 minutes. But the quality of the food and staff has tanked. It’s one of those places where you can tell the kitchen is just there putting in time for a paycheck and gives zero cares about what they pass to the customer.

The new strawberry boba shake was incredible, but why only a small sample size? I got the new fish tacos made with salt and lime lager “guac’d up”. I received zero guacamole. One was great. The other piece of fish seemed like it was cooked, sat out under a heat lamp for half a day, and then put into a tortilla. It was rock hard. I couldn’t even tear it. I gave it to my large dog, and she spit it out! I used the app and they were BOGO so apparently the free one qualified for garbage. I also ordered a crispy chicken chipotle wrap and the chicken was another “dead under the heat lamp” hard, flat, dried out piece of chicken. So I could eat one fish taco and a miniature shake for my meal.

My husband got a burrito and queso fries, he said they were great.

I ordered 2 chicken ranch rollers for my dog- she always gets a snack when we go out. Each one had (no kidding) about 2oz of ranch and 1 oz of chicken and cheese. It was literally a tortilla overflowing with ranch!! No one would want to eat that! I ended up squeezing all the ranch out into the wrappers.

Unfortunately we went through the drive through and then immediately hit the north I-5 entrance to go home, and ate on the way. In afternoon traffic packed going southbound, we couldn’t turn around to get this fixed. We did an app order- pick up in drive though.

And please bring back the cheese and jalapeno poppers! Those are the best snacks ever!

Great food with cheaper than Taco Bell prices. I love these guys and grew up with them. I'm so happy to have found one here in Washington, With food the same way I remember.

• I have to make a comment about this post. I have been going to this Del Taco in specific for a year now. I have been a customer of Del Taco since my childhood days in St. Louis starting in 1994. I have traveled and been to every Del Taco I can find over the states. Today at 4:30 pm my fiancée needed to complete an assignment for his college Spanish class. He ordered off the menu in Spanish and recorded him speaking only to show his teacher. Anyway we ordered a 10 pack of dell tacos. We got to the window they handed us our tacos. Then informed us they have no tomato's on them like the f? They take the tacos back and have us pull around to put tomatoes on them. We got the tacos and left. I got home to auburn. Gave my kids their tacos and busted out mine. I was starving I shoved my face and halfway threw when I actually tasted the Taco it was foul. I told my fiancée as I'm barfing over the sink that Taco is rancid don't eat it. He pulled it apart and smelled it he started gagging. It smelled of old rotten beef blood. We immediately took the tacos from our children. We were also informed they were training a new staff members on the Taco bar. But that is no excuse. I have an autoimmune disease that I have to take Humira shots for to make my immune system non existent which makes listeria deadly. I expect great quality of food. I am so saddened by this. After 23 years of eating Del Taco I think these guys ruined it for me. I'm sick I got the craps and throwing up and an ER visit looks eminent if it doesn't stop by morning. So every time we come here, we get bad serves. We are from California and we have a a lot of Del Taco. But the difference is California has customer service. The one here in Tacoma Washington has none. And Del taco is one of my most favorite places to eat at. We will no longer come here. When you pull up to the speaker to order they say, order when you ready. Not Welcome to Del Taco how may I help you. When you get to the window. They tell you how much the food cost. Gives you your drink and you card back. Close ‘s the window . Then when it’s Time to give you your food. They open the window give you the food and close it . We have to knock on the window to ask if that all the food they say yes and close the window. So you tell me what kind of costumer service that! I hope this review make it back to Corporate so they can see what’s going on. They have a 4 star and it much be for the food only. The kids that run that place need help. And lots of training. I gave it a 2star for the food only.

It’s now 8:10 pm And now I’m home. I live an hour a way. And my order is wrong! We ordered the #4 cheeseburger with no cheese. A deluxe chili cheeses fries and 2 Del tacos. We got the deluxe chili cheeses fries great. But then we all so got a #5 two chicken soft taco and 1 Del taco. And the thing is when we told him what we wanted . He read back only the cheeses burger no.cheeses. He’s very softly and told us how much.and that was it. It was our fault we did not check the bag . But now what I said in the 1st Paragraph stands . They need help with customer service and the manager you have on staff is not...
