UPDATED REVIEW per Google request.
It surprised me that after selling and purchasing items several time, that they suddenly treat a customer badly. I wanted to buy back, at whatever rate they were selling, a few items. I called and pressed the code to reach the representative. Informed them I was seeking to buy back three items and told them when those were sold and what the items were. They looked but found no records. My GPS on Google Maps made it clear when I went. I knew my memory was correct as that backed me up. After fifteen minutes, they asked if this could be taken care of in an email. Stra. But agreed. After an email exchange and re clarifying my request ( it seemed the person still believed I wanted a discount), they ignored me. I sent another email. Still no reply. Waited a day. Nothing.
Now that seemed a way to say, "We had enough of your 1980s games and are tired of selling to you as well. The excuse that I was told, "Our system wasn't working, so you must have gotten lost as the items you sold that day did. As it moves through it, it is altered and joined with like items." Still, when I went with email, I made it clear that I wanted the same condition Vg, and obviously edition. Did not have to my exact books. So that excuse of theirs doesn't hold up.
End of Updated Review. Below is my original experience. What a change!
First on my list is that they will let you enter even if you are not a knight. No armor or coat-of-arms required. That's a relief! Seriously. This business treats you fairly. (Check out my review on Half Priced Books for an opposing review on customer service practices) I brought in my overused RPG items and had the following options. 1. Go to their website and log in detail all I plan to sell. Wait for a reply that could take a few business days. 2. Simply make a day trip of it, and with several minutes of arriving, they'd have a quote. I took option 2. It is in a safe place of town. No concerns about your vehicle being broken into or being held up as you come and go. Hey! That's an honest perspective today to be concerned about. I had an extremely reasonable quote with moments. Plus, you have the option of in-store credit or cash for your old games. The credit never expires or otherwise is lost by NOT using it in a timely matter. YOU MUST have an account. This is hardly a deal breaker requirement! You also do not have to be at the store to sell your items either. You can read those details yourself. I prefer hands-on, so I can also check out what else they offered. I am trying to rebuild my old RPG collection after all. The staff was friendly, considering how busy they were, this was a surprise. Knowing what was what? Some did, and others did not. Not a reason to remove a star. No person can know everything!
Overall, I can say they are the best place to purchase your new or long forgotten games. I have for many years now and have never been disappointed.
Shipping? Yes, I wrote a brief review about this before. If you order an item online, it takes 24 to 48 hours to ship out. I ordered an item in the late morning on Wednesday, and it arrived Saturday. I live about 2 hours away from them. Sometimes, it takes less time. Sometimes more. But do not expect your item to ship out within 24 hours or over the weekends. Still, items are packed safe. No damaged items.
Oh damn. The atmosphere of Noble Knight Games is great! Not over done, not cramped as the great gaming tables are set up farther apart than other game stores typically provide. And scheduled events planned out professionally, too.
Make it an online purchase to test them out or take a day trip. You'll enjoy...
Read moreI was unaware that this place existed online or the fact it was 3 miles from my house. I was looking for vallejo paints and found they had a good sale online. The website is nearly impossible to navigate to look for vallejo model air paints. i had to go though a 12 page list and click on many items that didn't have the item number in the title. i could not filter out results i did not want. i had to use a separate website to find which colors were in the sets. After a few hours getting my cart filled i went to check out for in store pick up. some how my cart was emptied and unrecoverable. i decide to just go into the store to look around and to pick up the paints i wanted. the staff was friendly, however after explaining i had troubles on there website i was taken to a computer to fill out my order on there website again... Could have saved a uber ride there. the gentleman that helped me did show me a quicker way to find the paints i wanted. even so i had written my part numbers down so it wasn't exactly a better way. i was informed that i would have to wait to pick up my order the next day or two. i was rather disappointed to go into a store and not walk out what they claim to "have in stock" Frustration sets in when i will now be spending more then i intended to with getting ride share in and waiting. I could have ordered else where gotten more of the paints i needed because they were out of stock. i was really looking forward to having a company like this right next door, but with them not being able to give me what i want when i walk in i may as well shop around online. they could really use a dedicated team of 2 or more folks to process in store orders. i would for one be doing a lot more impulse buys if its a "can have it right here right now" deal. the thing that makes this store the most upsetting is they obviously are a online retailer first and retail store second. That being the case they need some SERIOUS help with there website. I did enjoy walking around the store and it was clean and everyone seemed nice enough. Just wish i could have left with what i wanted right then. For perspective it was 34 items, all of which were vallejo model air paints. I would assume that paints would be in some kind of order on a rack where they could have quickly just grabbed them. Overall i am sure i will return, but may also look harder elsewhere. If you have a harder time with a computer forget it, not a user friendly website, and frankly unless what you want is on the showroom floor, just find another vendor to go though online. would be nice if they had a customer service counter to help you look online for what you want similar to how Summit Racing retail...
Read moreIt is a very cool store with helpful employees, and a wide selection of board games. Would highly recommend the store for figurines, board games, etc. However, I’d recommend staying away from purchasing any cards here. I’ve spent close to $500 on Pokemon here, and haven’t gotten a single “hit”. I know it sounds like buyers remorse, or just unlucky, but hear me out. I’ve spent $75 at Best Buy and gotten $100 Charizard. Spent $50 on Pokemon center and got a $150 Machamp. Pulled good cards in the $60 i spent at Target and Walmart as well. Every card of value I have is from someplace else, which is absolutely insane considering that 60% of the money I’ve spent collecting Pokemon was done at Noble Knights; and the only halfway valuable ones I have from here are ones that look generic that you wouldn’t think are even worth more than $10. But Noble Knights, a collectible card game place, I’ve spent $500 on Pokemon cumulatively, and my most expensive card I’ve gotten is a $20 Raichu?? Out of opening 36 packs in a booster box, I get a Raichu and a couple of $3 cards?? The packs tear open more easily as well, the packaging on the tins is more loose than at other places I’ve gotten them, half of the time I’ve gotten good cards, the holograph part of it was stuck to the backside of another card. And I’ve had packs I’ve opened where the energy card is in the front half of the pack, which is also weird, and I’ve gotten cards behind the digital code, which I’ve never had happen anywhere else. Just strange coincidental things that I don’t get when purchasing cards anywhere else, combined with the horrible pull rates, leaves me with a general distrust towards either the business as a whole (in terms of card collecting), or perhaps one of their many employees. Regardless, every time I’ve purchased cards from here, it’s been a massive L, and I’m bummed I had to spend so much here to come to this realization. I can’t say for sure they’re resealing packs or anything, but I am incredibly suspicious, and won’t be buying cards from here...
