Probably the best mini golf experience we've ever had. We travel a fair amount and like to play mini golf wherever we go. We've had some crazy courses, simple courses, run down courses, and a few that entertained us with buy one get one drinks. Castle Golf is probably the best.
Castle Golf completely, entirely embraces its theme. As soon as we got out of our car and saw the broadswords striping separating parking spots, we knew something was different. Lots of dragons, castles, and knights littered the park, but the 'clubhouse' was the nearest. The bathrooms 'privies' were totally on point, nothing modern visible, even flaming torches for lights. AWESOME. It sounds silly, but we weren't the only ones peeking in the opposite genders privy to see the decor.
Scorecards, signage, and rules were all in 'olde english'. Gift cards are literally rolled scrolls! So cool.
The course was immaculate. Greens were smooth, uniform, and well kept. Every hole had a unique challenge. Jumps, missing borders, multiple tiers, ramps, banks, etc. It really was a ton of fun.
In the interest of full disclosure, the only tiny critiques I have is the black tee matts at each hole were too smooth and force you to putt from the center dimple instead of choosing your starting point. The holes are about 25% larger than normal. Some holes were a bit of a mystery as to how they work, but that added to the challenge.
Well be back! This was...
Read moreThis place is pretty legit. The clubs and balls are in good to excellent condition, full and sturdy, as well as the entire course. Each hole is different and requires a different skillset to conquer but with enough perseverance and technique you can get it in the hole. The holes are pretty deep too, so your balls won't bounce out as easily. If you get a hole in one they let you spin a little wheel and they'll let you play a round for free I'd you win. During the day it is bright and easy to see but at night it is misty and challenging, which is super cool. If you venture around to the backside, there is a tight but neat looking walkway. You get a different set of noises when you go back there too, but it is a overall pleasant experience if you don't rush it. At the very end, you climb a high peak and suddenly the course is done and your balls disappear. You can go play again and get a new set for a couple bucks more.
4 stars because it is a little expensive, but hey. You get what you pay for. Some other places I've seen can give you an STD just by looking at it but this place is kept very clean and all the holes are very well...
Read moreOn every family vacation, we find a ini-golf course for our family. This was, by far, one of the best. This trip it was my 17 year old son, my husband and me. When i first saw the price of $17.99 per person (for adults), I was a little shocked, but then we started playing the course, and we had so much fun. Not only are the grounds well-maintained, but also the holes are unique and set up in a way to provide an enjoyable challenge. Also, because they aren't just a simple putt down the green, it takes a little bit longer to play, so I felt we definitely got our money's worth. My son and husband both hit holes in one on different holes. At the end of the game, we visited with the person at the window where we returned our clubs. He shared the story of the course and how long it had been in his family. You can tell that Castle Golf is a family-oriented course ,and they want people to make memories as they play. There were families of all ages there ,and they all appeared to having a great time. I would 100% recommend this mini-golf course to anyone going to the Ft. Myers area. ...
