Joe Pomar Park — Attraction in Florida

This rating would have been higher had it not been for 2 men who appeared to be in their 70's. WATCH OUT for a short man who drives a Tesla truck with a 100 lb. Poodle.I brought 2 dogs to the park today. I brought them in 1 at a time staring with my 14yr. old lab mix who was met by the other dogs at the gate which is normal. He is very passive and just ran around as both men's dogs all over him. Eventually he got away from them. As I was going to get my other dog my older dog pooped, one of the "gentleman ' said "you know you have to clean that up right" (red flag) I replied yes I'm familiar with dog park rules. That was ironic since his dog looked like a 100lb. Poodle, I'm not sure of the breed, wasn't wearing a coller therefore NO TAGS. I then proceeded to get my other dog, a 3 yr. old Cane Corso mix. Before I did that I told both men that my other dog may not react that well to their aggressive behavior. As I walked in with him both dogs(the other one was a giant poodle as well) were all over him. I couldn't even get him off the leash. Both men did nothing. There was a very nice woman there who witnessed this and was saying OMG! I said well ok I'm going to let him off the leash. These 2 dogs kept trying to hump a growling My dog is capable of handlboth these dogs but to his credit he did not bite or even growl. As the large poodle continued to be aggressive I asked the tesla guy if he was going to stop him he started using profanity telling me to get my dogs and leave. When I refused to leave he started to call the police. I said go ahead your dog was attacking mine. After a few more profanities he left. Then the nice lady with the nice dogs said several times that my dog did nothing wrong and we both left. Now, as I'm writing this my pup is lying in the back seat with his head down traumatized by this. To the tesla and aggressive dog owner, you need to treat people with respect and consideration and remember the world does not...

There are clearly people with aggressive dogs at this park. We had a close call with one such dog. Upon arrival a few of the dogs were acting a little aggressive at the side fence. Some lady said it was OK and asked if my dog was good with others. Dotty is the most submissive dog you will meet. Anyway one of the dogs there today was not. We didn't even make it through the gate when chaos erupted. One dog was clearly biting my dog. I got her picked up and immediately got out of harms way. The lady claimed "THIS HAS NEVER HAPPEND BEFORE" I don't really believe that after what took place. We were there at about 3 p.m. so be careful if you go and something doesn't seem right. When we there the two days before things went fine and we even made a couple new friends. Just be aware of the atmosphere if you think it is a little crazy you are...

It is a large, clean, well-maintained park with a few large fields to play soccer or baseball, as well as a covered gazebo, barbecue grills, a dock that stretches over the marsh, and a dog park. I could see parking becoming an issue if there were a football game or something going on; there are not a lot of parking spots. As for the dog park, it is fully fenced, with one side meant for large dogs and one side for smaller dogs. The fence itself is not tall enough to keep a large dog from jumping over it, and the grounds are covered in feces. The grass is turning into mud and dirt, but it does not surprise me when Teslas are parking on the grass instead of in the designated...
