Owner/operator is not altogether honest and has psyche issues. She misrepresented that serpentine was a form of jade despite being knowledgeable and knowing better (she abandoned this claim when I offered her gemological articles on the differences between the two). She also misrepresented man-made "hemalike" (a ceramic) as natural hematite. Worse still she was irrationally nasty due to apparent psychological issues. For example, an elderly woman in the shop apologized to me for not wearing a mask explaining she could not breath through them (apparently because I was wearing a mask) to which I replied that masks were probably not effective and her not wearing one was no problem to me - and the owner (who was not wearing a mask) chastised me for encouraging the spread of covid by advising people not to wear masks. In the positive side she does have an interesting selection of stones and as is reasonably priced on some items. NOTE RE OWNERS REPLY: Owner claims she only sells hematite (not hemalike), but the attached photos show a hemalike ring I purchased from her stuck magnetically to a scissor. While authentic hematite is considered to have magnetic properties, its magnetism is so slight that it can only be detected with sensitive scientific instruments - and it won't stick to steel or iron (whereas hemalyke will). I also attached a few photos of her shop where she used these rings as...
Read moreI got married on June 5th of 2020, and my new husband and I had decided that we would drive down to St. Augustine for our honeymoon, and I had been researching crystal/metaphysical/Wiccan stores to go to, and Peaceful Spirit was the best option, and WOW am I glad we went! Diane is EXTREMELY knowledgeable about EVERY single crystal/rock she has on site, and goes out of her way to show and explain the name, history, origin and use of all of them. We purchased several different stones, all beautiful, and even returned a couple of days later to get more! Although the store is small, it is absolutely LOADED with EVERY type and size of crystal you can possibly imagine; there are also various types of oils and incense, as well as some book choices for anyone just getting started or furthering their journey of spiritual development. You cannot go wrong going here, we found EVERY crystal we've been looking for, including some that we'd either never heard of or even knew we'd want lol! If you're ever in the St. Augustine area, be sure to stop by and check it out!
Thanks again Diane for your help, we hope to make one more trip to see you before we leave this...
Read moreThis is probably the best crystal store I've been to. It's run by one woman, and she's extremely knowledgeable about the hundreds of stone types she has. She can help you find stones that match what you're looking for, and she can often give really interesting stories or facts about them. You can tell she's really passionate about her store. If you're just starting with stones and crystals, or if you're a bit of an enthusiast, this is a wonderful store for you.
One word of caution: the store is small, and there are so many crystals to explore here. That being said, tread with caution so you don't accidentally step on or knock anything over. I accidentally bumped into a box of agate (nothing broke, thank goodness), but the woman was pretty fierce about it. She can be a little startling if you knock over anything, so just be mindful about where and how you're moving, and...
