We stayed at the Touch of Heaven through VRBO rentals and paid 1900 dollars for a day and a half because it was supposed to be beachfront property and have a jacuzzi, a game room and a pool. Well we get there and the place is run down , dirty, no jacuzzi, the pool was dirty there was no oceanfront view. There was a big house blocking the so called private beach they advertised. The Airbnb home was dirty as in the towel I dried off with after getting out of the tiny tub they had was so nasty. It looked like someone wiped up the dirty floor and hung it up nice and neat as a clean towel. The air filter looked like it hadn't been changed since the house was built. The air conditioning and TV in the game room didnt work. The TV in one of the bedrooms didnt work. We couldn't get the codes for the beach bikes that were locked up. My girlfriend was on the phone with VRBO the entire time we were there and nothing got solved.
They charged her 350 cleaning fee and the place was nasty. I wouldn't even sit on the couches. The beds big dips in the middle of them. They charged her 250 dollar service fee and couldn't explain what that was for. 86 dollar administrative fees. 350 pet fee which she didnt bring any pets.
So by the next day they had offered her 600 back. She paid 350 for a pet deposit so that would leave them giving back 250. That's is ridiculous. It's not worth it people.
Pensacola looks run-down. Too many businesses and hotels, motels everywhere. The boardwalk was even run down but they are still charging high price.
I used to live there in 1999 for three years and it didn't...
Read moreWe stayed at the cutest Airbnb in the garden district on. N. Spring St. An old historic house converted into a great apartments. It was so cute and had EVERYTHING we needed in our apt. It was even ready for our small dog with doggie bed and food bowls. Great area and sidewalks for walking and riding bikes. Also had a nearby park. NO, it's not on the beach but only about a 15 min drive away. Sometimes we prefer to not stay on beach in order to just get away from a touristy atmosphere and not riding in wet, sandy elevators. Was perfect. Like going home at the end of the day. The beach was awesome but away from the boardwalk and Bamboo Willie area. In that area the beach is packed with people and LOTS of children running around. So, we went further down. Also went to the dog beach area which was clean and nice. The beach was really nice. And the water. Waves were really rough a couple of days though but would have been great for a surfboard. Went to Bamboo Willie a couple times to watch a band and have a few drinks. Food is expensive on the boardwalk so go elsewhere if you're watching your money. We grocery shopped at Publix and had it delivered to out house. It was...
Read moreI was accompanied by my service animal in the designated area, with no other patrons nearby. My elderly mother was seated on a nearby bench. Suddenly, a man approached us in a rude and confrontational manner, assuming that I didn't have a disability and that my animal wasn't a legitimate service animal.
Under Florida law, this encounter violated several statutes:
Florida Statute 413.08: Prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities, including those with service animals. Florida Statute 413.08(3): Specifies that service animals must be allowed to accompany individuals with disabilities in all public accommodations. Florida Statute 413.08(4): Prohibits inquiries about an individual's disability or requests for proof of disability, except to ask if the animal is a service animal required because of a disability.
These laws ensure that individuals with disabilities have equal access to public spaces and accommodations, and that they are treated with dignity...
