There has been a drastic decrease in the overall quality of our stay as compared to the same stay here at the Hampton Inn Pensacola Beach one years ago.||1. We arrived 14 June 2025 after a 12 hour drive for a week-long vacation just like last year. After arriving, we pulled in our bags, and went directly to bed. The sheets and entire bedding on one of the beds was very sandy and dirty. I reported this to the front desk and was told housekeeping was gone for the day and handed a sheet. Being tired from the ride, I just complied with the sheet on top. I was told they would change out the bed on the 15th.||15 June, we were gone for most of the day. When we returned, the bedding still was not changed. Again, housekeeping was not available and I was handed two sheets.||16 June, the bedding was finally changed after I (for the third time) explained this was unacceptable.||Along with the sand in the bedding the floor was dirty as well and the room smelled musty and the AC didn't seem to be putting out clean air. On 17th June I decided to look at the room air conditioner filters. They were damp and packed with dust so I took a picture and cleaned them out and mentioned it to the receptionist. I was told that maintenance cleans them out when the rooms are empty. The accumulation was most definitely more than 4 days of accumulation my opinion.||During a storm I noticed water was pouring in from the window above the air conditioner unit. I had electronics sitting next to the window so moved everything out of the way (no damage to the electronics). This water was pouring directly on the air conditioner unit. I reported it to the night shift and day shift front desk folks.||19 June, I went down to do our laundry to prepare for the trip back. Last year same time-frame, the washer and dryer were reasonably clean and worked well. This time both the washers and dryers were very dirty and one of the dryers did not dry the clothes. I cleaned as best I could and did the laundry. I let them know the dryer wasn't drying.||I know mechanical issues take place and sometimes these are unforeseeable. But mentioning there were numerous occasions of the elevators not working. ||The folks at the front desk were always friendly.||The breakfast was good and the people taking care of the food and breakfast area were great! The area was clean and the coffee good.||We used the pools and patio area out back, and even though there are many people coming in from the beach, they always kept the pool area, patio, and pool very clean. ||However, considering the condition of the room with excessive sand in the bedding (which would have been a simple fix if handled in a timely manner) but not resolved until the 3rd day, the condition of the room AC filters, condition of the laundry, is why I...
Read moreDespite a rocky start, we are very happy we picked the Hampton Inn Pensacola Beach for our vacation!
Upon arrival, we were able to check in quickly and easily, and the staff were very accommodating as we had a few card troubles. However, despite high spirits, when we got off the elevator on the second floor the hallway smelled extremely strongly of weed. For personal reasons, a member of our party couldn't be exposed to this and therefore we quickly decided we would speak to the front desk and ask for a different room. The staff had responded quickly to our concerns, and issued us new keys for the third floor while assuring us he would let maintenance know. We appreciated his quick and tact response, but were once again let down as upon entering the hallway (which still smelled slightly of weed) the room was occupied! We walked into a room with bags open and scattered, but thankfully nobody inside! Evidently, front desk marked this room as checked out but the people didn't move their stuff out. Once again, we were on our way back down to front desk for a new room. This time, we were issued a room on the first floor. This is where things look up very brightly for this hotel, and why despite their failures in the very beginning we still feel confident giving a 5.
The room was clean and fresh smell with zero hints of mold or weed, coupled with completely impeccable and spotless linens, towels, and shower, etc. We were very impressed with the state of the room. Not only that, we were impressed with the service who was relentless in making sure our needs were met on this room and furthermore took off the parking fee for our stay in exchange for the troubles. Amazing service from the hispanic man with long hair at the front desk, sorry I can't give you a shoutout by name.
Throughout our stay, our needs were consistently met with delicious breakfast and extremely kind staff in the dining area. We watched as fresh and hot food was consistently brought out during our breakfast. In addition, the water and coffee in the dining area being there all day was a wonderful touch.
The location, being the absolute first hotel on Pensacola Beach and being the closest to the boardwalk is amazing! Walkability is key at this hotel. You are right by the beach ball and great restaurants, and steps from UFO Mini Golf. There is no better hotel for being literal steps away from anything. This comes at the expense of things to do inside your hotel, bear in mind. If that's something you care about, stay at the Hilton next door (although there is an open gate from the Hampton straight into the Hilton's pool area, we didn't use it but it is there).
To the staff, thank you so much for ensuring that all our needs were met. We recommend...
Read moreJust a warning! Don’t believe the 4 or 5 star reviews. I did and total disappointment. I made reservations June 9th. The reservations were for July 22-28. We arrived and were told we didn’t have reservations. We did. The staff said they would try and find a room. My reservation was for gulf view that sleeps 5. We waited and finally got a room. The minute we walked in overwhelmingly smelled very musty. After we settled in and took off our shoes we realized that the whole carpet was damp. Also no towels or toilet paper. We went down first thing in the morning and was told the room we were given was out of service. There excuse was they had booked up the night before. We were told we would be comped for that night and no parking fees. Ridiculous that they charge for parking. They said cleaning crew doesn’t come in until 930 so it would be a bit later before we could get a different room. We went downstairs to wait because room smelled so bad. One of the adults was still upstairs taking a shower. Someone opened the door and walked in while she was in the shower. She said she was there to clean the carpet. So if it’s damp and room out of service and we are still in room why send someone to clean it. This happened twice. Eventually we got a different room. The room we were moved into had a shower that didn’t work. They did fix that. So after we were moved I was told that they would send a voucher by mail for one night a Hampton instead of comping the first night. They want us to do everything digitally but then going to send a voucher in the mail????? Two of us ended up with sore throats and coughs. Probably from the mold. Also tons of dogs in the hotel. So maybe pet dander. Also when I checked out I had a twenty dollar charge for gift shop. No gift shop, just a fridge and some cabinets with junk. I told the guy I paid cash for the detergent ,popsicles and some small bottles of wine. I was still charged. Also only two washers and dryers for entire hotel. One dryer doesn’t work. My clothes were damp after 45 minutes. The breakfast is gross. The only thing worth eating is the waffles. But only three waffle pans for the entire hotel. The Hilton family is making billions off us suckers like us that don’t know. I walked inside the Marriott where the Fish Head restaurant is and it was so clean, nice and inviting! Go there if you’re planning a trip to Pensacola. We should have been comped for being put in room that was out of service but weren’t. Also they don’t charge for parking unless in the garage. So just so you know. The Hampton at...
