Where to start? We came at 8:15 pm on a Saturday night. The place next door had an hour wait, so we came here instead and got right in. The inside was completely empty. The deck had bar patrons smoking cigars and just a few other tables with diners. That should have been our sign. After 35 minutes our food (finally) arrived. We ordered the seafood platter (pretty decent), fish tacos (completely soggy and inedible), wings (pretty decent) and fried grouper (inedible). The grouper was so tough it had the texture of way overcooked chicken. In fact, I almost flagged the waitress down to say they brought the wrong item! Sadly, it was in fact, the grouper. Felt like I was being punked, no doubt. When the waitress finally came to check on us, she asked if we wanted boxes. Nope! When she brought the check I mentioned that the meal was inedible and she said “it’s the thickness of the fish it’s supposed to be that way.” No point in debating this any further. We’ve had multiple great meals in Pensacola and this was not one of them. Will not be back.

EDIT: Score reduced after the owner responded stating that it’s “tough to write a negative review” after trying only one thing. What item should I have tried that was good? I assumed that you would make all of your food good - didn’t realize there was a secret to it! And I have to say, it was an incredibly easy to write and now rewrite my review. Perhaps they were having an off day, because the food I received was far from great. For the record, I visited at brunch and everything was rather bland. Not bad, just incredibly boring - and that includes the drinks. My server was also not particularly helpful, so it was lucky I'd looked at the menu ahead of time and knew the specials. If you want a nice view, give it a shot, but not on my recommended list.

Hesitant to try The Sandbar due to previous breakfast reviews. Gave it a shot and couldn’t have been more pleased. Great service on a dreary Saturday morning with my family. Restaurant was toddler friendly, great value, solid mimosas, and if you judge a breakfast chef by his Benedict the crab cake benny was spot on with a firm white and runny yolk. I’ve had too many disappointing breakfasts in Pensacola, I’m glad this wasn’t one of them. Their menu is a very traditional and simple breakfast menu featuring several Benedict’s, home style eggs, potatoes, tater tots, omelets, shrimp and grits, French toast and pancakes.

Absolutely the worst dining experience ever! While on vacation with my family, we decided to give this restaurant a try. The website looks like a fun environment and the food looked delicious. WRONG! We were seated quickly but that is the only thing that was quick. It took over 15 mins for our waitress to get our drink order, then when she brought our drinks more than half had to be returned because the carbonation was out on both the rootbeer and lemonade . (This is what we were told). Took over another 30 mins to replace our drinks.... some being waters! Our waitress finally comes to take our order an hour after our drinks (which we had to flag her down and ask to take it). Our food comes out, more than half the dishes are wrong or not how the waitress said they would be. This is when I ask for a manager. My daughter ordered the hot wings in the flavor MILD, the waitress failed to inform me that this is most likely not a good dish for a child since the mild is basically so hot that some grown men can’t take it. Which is what the manager tells me. So hot that they had to bring her milk because she was in tears that her lips were burning so badly. I’m still not sure they gave her mild and not hot!! My sister ordered the snow crabs which came out freezing cold. Not cold from sitting out, cold from the freezer. The manager offered to fix some of the issues but then she too kept forgetting about us. We didn’t get things they told us they would bring. At this point we had enough! We were done we were already 2 hours in. We asked for the checks so we could just leave. It took over a hour for us to get our checks and pay our bill! We watched as the waitress and the manager continued to help other tables knowing we were displeased and said we just want to leave repeatedly!!! We had to go find the woman inside and tell her if they don’t check us out we are just going to leave! Over 3 hours!!!!!! I’ve NEVER had to stay over 3 hours in a restaurant! I told the manager in the beginning that it was taking a long time and we had things we wanted to do and see. We missed them all! They weren’t even busy when we arrived. I do not recommend this restaurant at all. I would give negative stars if that was an option. UPDATE::::: After seeing the response from the owner requesting more feedback, I emailed thru google as well as the company itself explaining that they could reach out to me personally about my experience and I would be able to give more information. Just as expected, no contact was made. Makes me question if those 5 star reviews are...

I really hope that this was a severely off night because if it wasn’t they need to drop the restaurant portion of the business and focus solely on the bar because this was the top worst food experience I’ve ever had.

My group ordered two appetizers. Shrimp and tuna dip. The shrimp flavor was okay but the temperature was lukewarm when it was supposed to be served hot. The tuna dip was pretty good and a huge portion. For entrees we had two ribeyes, fish tacos, snow crab, and the kids had a burger and macaroni and cheese. The steaks were seasoned well but they were extremely tough and very gristly. I can’t say for certain but I’m almost certain those weren’t ribeyes and if they were they were extremely poor quality. They were left mostly unfinished. The fish tacos were VERY fishy and not in a good way, sloppy and falling apart. The crab tasted good but the waitress told us she couldn’t find any “crackers” to open the crab and no attempt was made to remedy that, so we had to attempt to open the legs with our fingers. We gave up and left a good portion uneaten because we were cutting our fingers on the shells. I’m not one to say that everything was disappointing but for the first time in my life, it was.

Our waitress was nice and polite but we had to keep reminding her about things and eventually did things our selves. Not super attentive either and it wasn’t because they were busy. The crowd was nonexistent when we got there and moderate when we left TWO HOURS LATER. Service was very slow.

Be careful as well, they advertise one price on the menu and hit you with a different price when you get the receipt. They will charge you more PER ITEM for using a card to pay instead of cash. I run a business that does 6 figures in credit/debit transactions yearly. I understand the pricing adjustment for digital payment but not the insane markup they are charging. They aren’t passing along the cost of the card processing fees, they are making extra profit and hiding it behind a credit card fee.

If you want to go to a bar then this place is fine, but if you want to eat then you should look elsewhere. I now know why every place around was packed with hour long waits and we got into this place with no hassle. I...

We were here visiting. There were many things wrong but we didn't say anything at first. I've worked in the food industry for many years and understand that so many things can go wrong behind the scenes. They were out of many condiments, didn't have highchairs, 2 of our 9 guests got their food when everyone else was almost finished eating, a well done burger came half well done and half raw. I decided to say something when our bills arrived and we would have to pay more if we weren't paying cash. That was odd and was not disclosed prior too or on the menue. The server went and got the manager. When the manager first came in the restaurant, she didn't acknowledge us and went to the kiosk to discount only my bill (3 separate checks) and then she just walked out, which was very unprofessional. I told our server that I was not looking for a discount but if one was to be given, it should be to my friend who's burger was not cooked properly. She stormed off saying what else do I want, a free meal. It was very odd as I was not being rude or unkind to her, I was sympathizing with her but wanted to express my concerns. The manager came out and was kind and did remove the burger from my friends bill. Having worked in the food industry myself for many years, I had still planned on leaving our server a tip and so did my friends. However, she said that our family was trash as she stormed off. She was not deserving of a tip, even with having sympathy for her and what the restaurant was going through. Ironically, there was another table having issues as well and Maryann slammed their bill on the kiosk that the manager was at and said, they want a discount too and stormed off again. We had no issues paying our bill, not every complaint seeks as discount. We just wanted to make the manager aware of the issues so they could be corrected and addressed going forward. Our server was rude and unprofessional and to call us trash was crossing the line. I have had poor restaurant experiences but never one like this before. We will not return here for that reason alone and also, the food was...
