Crabs restaurant in Pensacola Beach Florida is amazing! Huge restaurant with so much seating space & and big staff to take care of all their customers!! Wow!! The dining rooms just go on forever it would seem. So many. Staff everywhere looking to see how they can serve you! Amazing! We had a great experience at Crabs on our visit. Looking for fresh delicious seafood & we found that at Crabs restaurant!! Big menu with so many yummy choices! The atmosphere & decor is fun & beach like with crabs 🦀 everywhere & Crab fishing gear all around. Open & airy dining rooms Fresh Sushi Bar is available inside. Shrimp Boil seemed to be popular. We decided to try -everything! Well almost. Hahaha. We ordered Crab Claws for our Appetizer. My first time trying them. So good! Lots of them on the plate! Perfect start to the wonderful seafood meal. My husband did settle on the Southern Fried Seafood Platter which had a a sampler of so many seafood bites! It had a big boneless piece of fried fish fillet laying on top of numerous seafood bites- coconut shrimp, wild fried shrimp, fried oysters, stuffed crab in shell, jumbo crab cake, along with hush puppies, French fries, & pineapple 🍍 coleslaw. Yum! Amazing abundance on a platter! A taste of all things of the Sea! He loved it!!! I ordered the Chargrilled Grouper plate with a special sauce. Small red boiled potatoes , fresh asparagus spears, & corn on the cob were fantastic sides. Tartar sauce & cocktail sauce of course. Fresh ice tea to drink. Grace, our server, brought us a small dish of their house special—. Small pastries dipped in cinnamon sugar goodness & flash fried to perfection served with honey. Oh my word - out of this world goodness. What a sumptuous treat! Grace treated us to these delicious Honey Buns! Grace was our Server for our visit. She did a wonderful job taking care of us! She was very helpful & attentive the entire visit. She has a beautiful smile & sweet attitude! Grace answered all our questions, kept our drinks refreshed, & overall made our experience more enjoyable by her presence! Crabs has a fantastic staff! That’s hard to find these days! Crabs 🦀 restaurant gave us a fantastic dining experience! We highly recommend you visit them soon. We sat on their outdoor porch with ceiling fans. They also have indoor dining rooms (with an Aquarium & live fish to entertain you), outside tables with red umbrellas on the beach are another option. Lots of seating! Outdoor on the beach is a playground for the kids. They had Crab races going on for fun too. Nice touch! Crabs 🦀 Restaurant is high on our list of favorites for our next beach trip to Pensacola Beach! We have loved Pensacola Beach!! Hope to...
Read moreThis place is owned by the same group that owns McGuire's and Flounder's - also reviewed by me. Also visited both during the same week long stay in Pensacola. This visit was on Wednesday the week we stayed. We walked to restaurant from our hotel - along a sidewalk that has their garbage dumpster right on the sidewalk - the smell is offputting and we almost turned around to go back to the hotel and find something else to eat - seafood garbage in a dumpster in the Florida heat - not a good smell before or after dinner. There needs to be an alternative for that - owner's need to do something. I have a disability but am able to navigate stairs most of the time. Note that stairs are the way up to tables, unless you ask for elevator - they have one and I'll go into detail about that in a bit. I ordered the Crab Trap drink - which was half price that evening - on special - it also had half the booze - pretty much tasted like punch with just a little booze in it. I was on seafood overload but hubby wanted to try the restaurant. We had crab claws for an app. We got deep fried claws but had a problem finding meat on them - was not a good app for $27 - I've had fried crab claws at other places and they should have crab meat on them. For dinner I opted for the McGuire roll which was beef/prime rib maybe on the roll - it was good. I only finished half and had the remainder the next day for lunch. Hubby had the crab cake meal which also had stuffed crab on it and hushpuppies - the same as flounder's hush puppies. He liked the meal. When we left I asked for the elevator to go down - it's obviously used to take out garbage. Stunk something awful and I almost threw up in there. It let us out in the same area as the dumpster and even walking on the street back to our hotel we were able to smell decomposing waste. Owners if you're reading - it's offensive. The smell on the elevator could probably be combated with ODOBAN - gets rid of all sorts of smells. We get that it's seafood but I've never had the experience of seafood waste smell at a seafood restaurant...yuk! Overall - this was disappointing when comparing to Flounder's and others who were also in town for business with hubby said the same thing - most went to Flounder's multiple times but only went once to Crab's once then...
Read moreFirst, what made our overall experience 5 Stars was our server Lele, or Ashley. She has an absolutely radiant personality and exceptional customer service skills. She shared with us that she’s a recent nursing school graduate, passed her boards and is currently interviewing for nursing jobs. She will have no trouble whatsoever landing a great job and Crabs will sorely miss her!
Everyone was so hungry I didn’t have an opportunity to photograph all the meals, but my seafood combo and my son’s shrimp tacos were out of this world. Our party also had coconut shrimp, crab legs and our granddaughters ordered off the kids menu - and considering how their growing appetites are - my debit card thanked them!
I ordered a Keylime pie and my wife ordered the death by chocolate for dessert. Oh my goodness, take a look at the Keylime pie photo. They serve everything in doubles and only charge singles prices. The chocolate went home for my wife to share with the granddaughters, I ate only half the Keylime and will finish that off for dessert tomorrow evening!
There was one major concern I addressed with management which I felt was handled badly. We were seated on the second deck outdoors and I pointed out to one of the managers that the fan blades above us were filthy. I asked him if he were eating at that table hould he be comfortable if someone turned the fans on with that dirt flying into his dinner? He replied rather smugly that it is an outdoor setting. I asked what their policy is on cleaning the fans. His reply was the fans are cleaned weekly. I highly doubt that. Maybe he meant weakly? That might be their policy, but if those fans have been cleaned in the last month I would be shocked! I’m betting that he didn’t realize he was speaking with someone who is in the top 10% of all food reviewers on Google! For that sir you received only 1 Star for Atmosphere.
It was a shame that such a great experience with Lele was somewhat diminished by that substandard response from the management; however the food was still great, we loved Lele and wish her the very best in her future endeavors. That young lady will be a huge success in whatever she does! I trust you folks reading this review will pass on our compliments with our...
