Visited last Friday. It was raining so there were a dozen buckets all over the building catching rain from the leaking roof. The walls were peeling apart from age and everything smelled of damp. No big deal, typically. I know where I am. I’m at a resell store that works for the community, they do what they can. But, it plays a small part later in the story. As I walked the store I picked up numerous knick-knack and decorative items, none of which were priced. It was getting frustrating. I approach the desk and ask about an items price. The clerk apologetically tells me that decorative items are not for sale and points to a small sign near the door that states the same. “Why is it out then?” I asked her. “Just for decoration. But we can’t sell them because we aren’t a thrift store”. I disagreed that point, stating that they resell donated furniture. And that I’ve been to every Habitat Restore in the surrounding 4 counties and all of them sell everything. She agreed. Stating that the item I asked about she could have sold “ten times over” and gets asked about it multiple times a day. I offered $50 on the spot. Nope. Can’t sell it. THEN DONT HAVE IT THERE. That clerk has her time wasted by annoyed patrons dozens of times a day because if this foolishness. If it isn’t for sale, don’t waste space and time. If you sold all of the Knick knacks, dishes and pans like the others do for next to nothing I bet you’d have enough money to fix the roof. Or the walls. Or the air conditioning. Or help those in the FWB community that are in need. There are dozens of things you could do with the money you are throwing away. And losing a returning customer- I will never be back to this location and I’ve spent thousands at the others. GO LOOK AT WHAT YOUR SISTER LOCATIONS ARE DOING. This is a major misstep that needs to...
Read moreIn the past i have had great service and help. Today was not so much. I came in, had been greeted. But heard all about the problems that was going on amongst the staff. Then as i was trying to get some heavy items, although there were enough people, no one was avail to help me carry the items that were pretty awkward and a bit heavy. Most were pretty new people, but a kind word or two, or to sorta keep an eye out if i need help would have been helpful. I have been going there for years and if it’s busy i get it, but today i was just...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible place to do business with. I wanted to donate a sectional couch and a chaise lounge in excellent condition . Drivers were incredibly rude. Didn’t want to do their jobs and load the furniture in their trucks! I was wanting to help those less fortunate and give them to people who are in need. This place wants to make money while being extremely rude! Absolutely don’t do...
